INSANE:o good luck with your schedule ,i look forward with great anticipation to these developing threads(hoping some of the paint mania rubs off and inspires me to pull my finger out):hat off
im 50/50 as to whether i can acheive it but im going to give it my best shot . i began today painting some spares i had before the main lot arrives. postal strikes here have put me back at least a week . started painting about 7 black orcs heads, several black orc weapon arms and command bits , a few banners for the warriors, shields and i already have a ghazak khan model in stock which ive begun base coating i will upload pics of my progress daily
some b orcs wip , my bolt throwers , some blunderbusses and my crowded painting table! im about 2/3 weeks into the project now and i nearly have both armies done . main differences are in the colour schemes , more variation . and i invested some more money in paints as my last army was painted with around 10 different colours and looked a bit flat. i bought some more reds to get a deeper colour
for anyone interested in the ogre kingdoms army i mentioned earlier i finished it in around 4 days ( it was half painted when i got it ) heres a pic of the final thing - it sold on ebay for 450 which i was quite happy with , will use the $$ to put back into my shop . i also earnt my 1st commission out of it which is encouraging .
a hellcannon crewman ive got loads of these heads so figured id try out a few see how they match up it looks pretty good will have to wait and see it painted though
i dunno maybe just keep it as a plain belt buckle or add a skull or hashut symbol to it or something . i cant decide. yeah i wasnt sure what to do about the moustache . the ogre army was already half painted when it arrived so i just touched it up and added some more colour to it / cleaned up the work a bit, re based it and added movement trays
there were a few changes made to the army composition, and i was delayed by some hobgobs trying to sneak away in the post . but ive finally got most of it done now so here some pics . only thing worth mentioning is the sneaky gits need a bit extra work . i tried hacking apart my warriors and cutting their helmets down but found this to be quite counter productive and opted not to do it to the other army . in hindsight that shouldve been the first thing i did not the last! this is the last piece of work from me for a while now as im about to start some extra training for film compositing. i will keep my shop open however (currently undergoing a re-stock)
