[Archive] Vintagephreak's classic chaos dwarf army

Vintagephreak:

Well, I am painting furiously to complete my classic army, which consicts of every single CD miniature released by GW (Citadel/Marauder). I have no doubles so far, which limits its size considerably, however as it becomes more complete its uniqueness will compensate for what it lacks in size (my classic regular dwarf army consists of nearly 300 unique models…).

UPDATE March 1, 2008:

Got my missing figures back, so now I have some shots of the full army, i.e. every single original CD from Citadel/Marauder. 7 Marauder CDs are still unfinished and I would also like to paint up some old chaos hounds for the Beastmaster. Plus I have 1 more bazuka and mortar team to paint. Here they are:

Cheers! Martin

Nice work with the tenderiser there! I like the red armour on the boar centaurs

Hope you don’t mind me posting the pics

These look excellent!! The Juggernaught in particular looks great on the scenic base, the red works really well on these old minis! can’t wait to see the whirlwind and the rest of the army :cheers

(just highlight and copy the IMG Code underneath all of the pics and paste it on here and it should work fine, thats what I did, can you see the pics on your screen or are they just on mine?)

Canix:

The text you have in between the img tags refers just to the photobucket area where the photos are, not the pictures themselves.
You need to click on the link to the pictures and paste that link within the img tags (in other words, you need a link that ends with .jpg)

Thanks for the help! The whole army is in reds to fit in with the Khornate theme of my classic chaos warriors army, in which the CDs were meant to function as allies. Also note the tenderised human in the wake of the tenderiser, got a bit gory there... I'll post close-ups as soon as I get the fancy camera from my mate. Thanks for the comments! Martin

Pyro Stick:

Yay Juggernaut!! Get some Crossbows in there. Id like to see pics of the marauders in smaller units to see them better. The colour scheme is a little similar to mine

Yep, got crossbows coming up! Got 2x of each of the 6 CD xbow models from Citadel, but they are in the unit that's away on display. I'll fetch those minis next week and start taking more photos. In all I believe there are 55 Citadel regular CDs, 12 xbow models, a total of 24 Marauder CDs once I finish the last ones and the CD beastmaster and 6 chaos hounds will also be photographed with a better camera. Glad you like the minis, nice to find a forum where my CD passion is apreciated ;)

Martin

clam:

Very, very nice :hat off - and how lovely to see these classic CDs and a Juggernaut.

And please give us, some close up pics of those Marauders

This_Is_My_Boomstick!!:

wow they look realy good, any chance of closer pics??, including the mushed human

Vintagephreak:

Some close-ups, as good as they get with my compact camera…

And the mashed soldier behind the tenderiser…

The bazuka team

This forum has given me a boost as I believed the world had given up on chaos dwarfs, so I’ll try and complete the whole army within 3 weeks. Stand by… Martin

clam:

Thx for the close ups - and wow! - what a great collection you got there. You got so many beautiful models - and you’ll done a great job on them :cheers. Now finish them up - please!

Khaosbeardling:

I must say I love the classic model look period, but the thing I like the most about the Tenderizer you have is the two mushrooms in the front. Mushrooms rock.

Yep, you can't go wrong with mushrooms! Martin :)

Pyro Stick:

Awesome paint job on the mage. I was thinking of doing that but i chose a different colour scheme. Have you got the crossbowman anywhere?

Thanks! Khorne all the way, for this army at least... The xbowmen will be fetched from the store display at the first opportunity and photographed. Cheers! Martin
