[Archive] Painting lava(1)

Filipicusius:

I have an idea.

I rolled for a name of my chaos dwarf lord on the chaos dwarf name generator, and he got the name “Hotpunch”

This inspired me to paint his gloves like they were made of lava (well, at least glowing). The problem is, i don’t know how.

I have seen that some of the painters here at CDO is quite skilled within this area. I really could use some help here.

You might wanna try Cool Mini Or Not. In the tutorial section there is an excellent tutorial done by Hotlead. (name kinda gives it away doesn’t it! :stuck_out_tongue: )

Also check out some of the OSL tutorials out there! For you who don’t know what that stands for, OSL is out source lighting.

Filipicusius:

I can’t find any tutorial section :stuck_out_tongue:

Obsidian:

Then you didn’t look very well!

Although the original tutorial seems to be removed I found the original autor’s website and found what you should be after!

Not sure if this was posted above, but you could try this. It’s what I read when I wanted to learn how to paint lava:
