As it is my first post on this forum I want to gret other Hashut followers and say hello to all of you! And I want to apologize for my english - I know it isn’t perfect but I hope that you will understand me. :hat off:
The Concept:
Some time ago I decided to built army around BfSP models which were (and still are) one of the cheapest GW models. Firstly I was playing quite more evil “standart” Dwarves but when my friend saw converted Dwarf Warriors models he told me that they look like a Chaos Dwarves. Then he gave me an CD army list and I realized that will be perfect army for me. I prefer painting and converting than playing so I built army in which every one model is converted. I’m quite pleased with the made minis but I’m still doing something new for the army.
Your Bull Centaurs look awesome. Some of the best covnerted BC’ ive seen. But you have gone a bit far with the inks so your models look a bit too shiny. Its turning out to be a great army though. Keep up the good work. Cant wait to see the WIP sorceror completed
Whole army is painted using dipping - so all the models looks like they were coated with gloss varnish. When I finish them all I will coat them with the matt varnish and neutralize shining.
Converting of this army took too much time and I decided to use dipping as a far faster technique than standart painting because I hadn’t time (and patience) to do it. But I’m quite proud with the effect all in all.
This guy looks the part, lore of death is perfect!!
(great use of dryads!)
the bases (on the bull centaurs in particular) are just awesome, Battle standard bearer is amazing, hobgoblins are the best bfsp adaptations I’ve seen and the WIP warriors look like they will live up to the rest of the army!!
that is THE BEST armie I have ever seen, well, maybe behind one but this is great in an overload of awesomeness, that one was great because it made me piss myself for a few hours just looking at it
I love your sorcerers, they are SO awesome, and the BCs, how did you convert them? tellmetellmetellmetellmetellmetellmetellmetellme …please?
also, cool robo-taurus, but since you made your llammasu already I guess it’s to late to say they have the fae of a chaos dwarf, still super, ultra, mega awesome though
Nice stuff (dipping aside… ;)). For some reason, I really like the guy on the right of the last unit. Something about the way his head is positioned makes him look really cool.
Those Bull Centaurs are made from the BfSP ponys. I cut their heads and glued to them torsos (Marauder and Dwarf) then sculpted beard to fill all the gaps. Then I add rest of the stuff and armor and they was ready to paint.
Something about Lammasu - my priority was to build the army for the lowest price I could. And once I had a chance to bought collectors Chimaira very cheap so I presumed situation and used it as a Lammasu.
Wow thats an expensive way to go. Dont they requite a lot of work or do you just leave all the decoration on them? And dont they turn out quite small since they are pony bodys?
Expensive? I don’t think so. And about dwarven decoration on them - all of it is hidden behind some stuff - shields, swords and other. Size - Bull Centaurs in my army are rather stocky and small than large and slim.
Very cool! I quite like your character models, and the great taurus especially. What did you build it out of? If I had criticism to offer it would be that the earthshaker barrels are a bit plain. Given the quality of your units and bases and the creativity of your other conversion work I think the earthshakers stand out as seeming unfinished. Otherwise, horray and well done!
Taurus is built from the balsa wood, plasticard and some other bits - imperial horse head, BfSP pony’s back and legs and bretonnian pegasus wings. I also used khemri bows for horns and some chain to finish it.
