I’m looking at lists for the UK south coast GT.

My other thread got a bit derailed so I have started a new one with my (hopefully) improvements, and some new ideas.

The comp is up to 4 points from this list (each selection counts as 1 point) and max 450 points for each unit:

I like the A list- balanced and I have worked out how to redirect to win so that’s the one for me.

I’m not sure about any of them, and for one reason: you’ve no daemonsmith for the warmachines (except for list C, which has less warmachines), so unless you’re thinking of sticking your sorcerer there instead, you missing out.

Does the sorcerer-prophet count as a daemonsmith for the purposes of this comp?

Specific things: 14 IG with GW won’t do much. If you need them for core, I’d give them fireglaives instead. 5 hobgoblins on wolves aren’t brilliant, if you’re relying on them redirecting I think you’ll be disappointed. I’d drop them and fiddle about to get a daemonsmith. A great taurus isn’t that good, either get a bale taurus or don’t bother. You could drop the earthing rod and I think it’ll fit.

Unfortunatley I think the wording is “each model with the daemon smith special rule after the 1st” so it takes a slot for each sorceror unless I drop the prophet.

I think keeping the destroyer is a no-brainier.

So I get 3 from HC, MC, DS, daemonsmith.

Which forces some tough choices.

How I deploy the prophet will vary. Against lists where he is vulnerable solo I will put him at the edge of a unit so he can look after 1 WM.

If having him solo is safe, or becomes safe after knocking out threats he can sit between 2 WM.

Without testing I just don’t know what the most effective setup will be.

I can increase shooting by taking an earth shaker over a hellcannon so in theory I could have 2 magma an earthshaker and a daemonsmith, but losing the hellcannon means I need to dedicate another unit to look after the warmachines and takes out a useful combat unit in the hellcannon. But if I stay fairly static it would mean I can get rerolls on all the WM.

Have you considered two or even three iron daemons? They’re fairly nasty if you can fit in more than one. Or double hellcannon/magma cannon with a daemonsmith?
