[Archive] 2000 points Army List

MrDw:

This December I’m going to be involved in a local Warhammer tournament. I’ve got confirmation that Chaos dwarves will be unexpected, but welcome, so I’m hoping I can manage to create an army before then. So I’ve been trying to come up with an all round list (close to impossible, but here’s hoping).

Anyway, here’s as goes, I’ve done magic items, but I have no idea what to really take. The reason for one blunderbussier unit is well, I felt bad using two after a game tonight where two (15, 5x3) just well… solo’d a tomb king army and some khorne daemons.

20 CD, full Command, 210

20 CD, full Command, 210

18 Blunderbussiers, 216 (6x3)

Earthshaker, 110

Death Rocket, 80

Bolt Thrower x 2, 60

10 Hobgoblin Wolf Riders, Bows, Light Armour, 150

20 Sneaky Gitz, 100

20 Naked Hobbos, 40

20 Naked Hobbos, 40

20 Hobbos, Bows, 100

That’s 1316, now characters.

Planning to take:

Chaos Dwarf Lord, Shield, Armour of the Furnace, Gauntlets of B the Cruel, Black Gem of Gnar 223

Chaos Dwarf Hero, Battle Standard Bearer, Armour of Gazrakh, Sword of Might, 135

Chaos Dwarf Sorceror, level 2, dispel scroll, powerstone, 150

Chaos Dwarf Sorceror, level 2, dispel scroll, powerstone, 150

1974. mmm, 26 points, what to take :o

Then again, I really need to rethink those hobbo units, 150 models will be hard for 2 months. Done it once before and it hurt.

Malificant:

first i would drop the black gem off the lord. it is useful on a sorcerer lord or bsb to stop a kill you dead character. then id probably drop the gauntlets. effective on a hobgob suicide bomber going after chariots using lots of magic to get him there, but you’ll end up killing your own guys. and units of 20 cant afford to lose guys. give him the black hammer with the points saved.

next id drop sneaky gitz. with 7th ed, they lose their effectivness. 100 points can go towards 2 more bolthrowers and 5-10 more hobbos in each unit. either that or use the points on another naked unit of wolf boyz.

Rootbeer:

The naked hobgoblins should be 25 strong, or they might as well be 10 IMO.

You may want a musician on the wolf riders, as fast cav they are great for the flee/rally and then shoot again move, but need some Ld help.

I would replace one of the dwarf characters with a bull centaur character for the opportunity to run out of the unit and hit small units of flyers/fast-cav hunting your warmachines or whatever.

MrDw:

So how about:

25 CD, full Command, 255

25 CD, full Command, 255

18 Blunderbussiers, 216 (6x3)

Earthshaker, 110

Death Rocket, 80

Bolt Thrower x 2, 60

10 Hobgoblin Wolf Riders, Bows, Light Armour, Musician 160

30 Naked Hobbos, 60

30 Naked Hobbos, 60

20 Hobbos, Bows, 100

Chaos Dwarf Lord, Enchanted Shield, Armour of the Furnace, Black Hammer of Hashut225

Chaos Dwarf Hero, Battle Standard Bearer, Armour of Gazrakh, Sword of Might, 135

Chaos Dwarf Sorceror, level 2, dispel scroll, powerstone, 150

Bull Centaur Hero, Heavy Armour, Shield, Sword of Battle, 131

So instead of the extra BTs, I up the units of CD to 25, leaving 41 points. Which I can then use to up the gobbos.

(love quick edit  )

Malificant:

well, you could shave some points by dropping 1 dwarf in each unit to make room for your characters. use the points for enchanted shield on your lord, and musician in the wolfs.

MrDw:

Changed the list, decided to quick edit the post so I didn’t end up making a ridiculously long page.

Thanks for the help so far :hat off

Uzkul Werit:

If I remember correctly, you can’t mix the Enchanted Shield and another magical bit of armour. I reckon dropping the other Mage for a Bull Centaur Hero was a little bit of a mistake as three dispel dice will rarely get you very far. The army isn’t big enough to need a BSB really, so you could drop him and use the points for another Mage.
