Though these things are best supplied on the 9th Age forum, it would still be good for members of CDO but not that site to share feedback about the Infernal Dwarves’ rules and armylist. What are warts? What is underpriced? What is overpriced? Is anything lacking in synergy with the rest of the army? What do you think would fix it? And so on.
I’ll alert the 9th Age team should any points pop up consistently or get wide support. They try to involve as much of the fantasy wargaming community as possible, but it’s not easy to patrol the wide web and so they has asked members of various sites to keep an eye out. If anyone would like to help with such feedback or issue-spotting for the benefit of improving the game, please send Arrahed a PM.
- Infernal Engine shouldnt be one of a kind
- Some details concerning our magical items
- Very pricey Anointed (big bull centaurs)
Ill work this out better when I have time.
- Flying movement 7 of the bigger of the flying bulls is too low. Also a wizard should be able to ride him, too.
The bull has a very big base. With flying 7 it is nearly impossible to move him about the battlefield without being shot several times. It is also difficult to find a good place for him if things get crowded :-). It would need flying 9 or at least 8 at least to be really effective.
The 9th Age folks are always looking for ways to make things better! So bring on the feedback!! The next update (September or later…) will only be tweaks for things that don’t work or need to be bumped up/down. No new units or big changes in this next update unfortunately
I do know that many of us have requested the Infernal Engine have requested “one of a kind” be removed but that’s a tough one to make happen because they don’t want an entire army of unbreakable things (Infernal Engine, Disciples of Lugar, & a Bound Daemon) plus all the Stubborn/Unstable things. I keep asking though!
Magic Items are something that I expect will be reviewed (thank goodness) but whether that happens in this update or the next I don’t know.
Flying(7) is pretty standard for the big dragon things and the bull is basically our version of a dragon. This thing isn’t a sparrow after all! On the plus side, it is the only flying monster I know of that has a Ward Save!
I would really like to have the option to include a single unit of Blac… Iron Orcs in an Infernal Dwarf army. I’m not sure if there is any 9th Age -fluff to support this kind of alliance, but I have some Black Orcs painted and would love to use them
Quite a few people have made the same request. But from the conversations I’ve heard, the question is what do they offer to the army that isn’t already there? What role would they fill?

Grimbold Blackhammer
Actually, the Army Board Committee said that Iron Orcs will never be included in the Infernal Dwarf book because they would be an auto-include choice, as they outshine other entries like Immortals and Disciples of Lugar. To be honest, I can see where they are coming from with this. Iron Orcs are relatively cheap, efficient melee fighters, AND kind of tanky. Our slaves CAN'T be better than us :hashut
Ill test Immortals today evening. I didnt play them in my last lists because they eat a lot of points, but I lost several games because the Citadel guard are not stubborn.
It is right. Iron Orcs (which have a standard for secondary objectives which Disciples of Lugar don`t have anymore) would be a probably in most armies.
