Thommy H:
Yes. What I’m saying is that this is a problem we already know about, and here at CDO we are working on a fan-based solution to that problem. Now, we can all sit here and reiterate that there is a problem over and over again, but that’s not really adding a lot of content to the discourse on the subject.
Willmark:
Our biggest problem that I see currently is our only current rules are either Ravening Hordes or the Indy GT list which is fan-made. Either we keep RH up to date with the current edition, pray to Hashut we get a real book or just continue to use a count as army.
Most people shouldn't have any issues as long as you show them the rules your using and let them see them. RH is a GW product which lends itself a form of legitimacy to other players when you bring the stunties out for play
ClawLeader
Only when you play at a store and with the tools that "usually" inhabit said store. Some are better then others. IF your regular gaming group is cool, it shouldn't be a an issue.
Also as Thommy notes work is underway on the FAQ issue.
ClawLeader:
I am very happy about the FAQ situation and eagerly await the fixes with 8th edition. And I agree Willmark, there is always a degree of elitism at the stores and sometimes the FLGS can be plagued with them as well.
Can’t wait to see what the future has for us.
cornixt:
Has anywhere started selling off BFSP cheaply? I’d have thought there would be a few indy stores that want to get rid of them now.
Shakhorth:
Every store in my region has sold the BFSP sets already. Most were bought because of the cheap way to boost the greenskin ranks.
AGPO:
Yeah what with the horde rule making big units of nightgoblins suddenly really effective BFSP has become a limited time goldmine for O&G players. I don’t imagine cheap ones will last long
zobo1942:
Just in case anyone is interested, here’s a place that sells BfSP very inexpensively: http://www.gc-minis.com/item231.htm
Although, once you factor in shipping, etc… it only works out to be about $3 cheaper than walking into a GW and picking it up. Might be good for people in Canada who live out in the boonies, anyway.
Please bear in mind that I’m not affiliated with these people in any way, nor do I have any experience ordering from them.
dancehat:
I suppose I can feel good about the fact most, if not all, of my friends despise the 8th edition. So no change for me there. That said, it has to be a sorry bunch of gamers who’d refuse a fan-made CD FAQ/Errata. If it is sensible and if you present it in a good manner I think even the douchiest of the douches will eventually accept it.
Lord Fokke:
Wow, the fan dex is perfectly legal here in my store in orlando, even for tournaments. In fact the organizer is even encouraging me to play them.
Fequiil:
my granny used to say: “be happy with what you have.” if i wanted sumfink, so, let’s be happy with what we have:
-more than 2000 members on a site for a race that, unforunately, doesn’t have “legal” rules.
-alot of ways to convert normal dwarfs into chaos dwarfs
-sumfink to lok forwart to, i mean, they can’t keep ignoring us having got such a great community after all.
Verezzo:
Well I know both of the problems won’t affect me because I was never going to use BfSP anyway and I’m using my own rules (and the Indy GT Rules for slightly more official games i.e. the charity tournaments one of my teachers sometimes runs at school) :).
Hashut’s Blessing:
Forgot that I had a link to this place, but this website has BfSP and at a discounted price too
