[Archive] Adeptus Arbites

zagor66:

Has anyone heard of the adeptus arbites? If you havent they are the police of the imperium and are equipped with that of space marines weapons. If you have Im making an army based on them , complete with judge and inquister plus riot squads and a repressor tank.It shall be good…I hope.:idea:hat off:hat

Malificant:

they dont have space amrine weapons, they have executioner rounds for their shotguns. i had a though to make a counts as army using the witch hunters list: sisters as swat troopers, the immolator as the repressor, stormtroopers as regular arbites, etc.

zagor66:

I meant that some of thier vehiecles are Rhino basis , and the do carry bolteres and bolt pistols , but Im making a new weapon:the bolt rifle:a smaller concentrated version of the bolters.Ill be using the imperial gaurd box and the necromunda enforcer squad bitz.

Malificant:

what list are you using? like i said i think the sisters work well as you can represent power armor as the suppressor shield, and bolters as executioner rounds.

AGPO:

Arbites are indeed 40k Coppers. To convert, use SM scouts with guard heads. Their standard weapons are shotguns or the Shock Maul and Supression shield. There are rules in Codex Witch hunters in the Stormtroopers entry. They can use the Incinerator as one of their tanks as well as the Rhino and the Chimera. Other than that and a few special weapons they haven’t got any cool stuff - they’re just the riot police

I mean the bolt rifle as a different look for the bolter for arbites , and it would look better if I convert , :hat offas the sisters of battle would look like....well sisters of battle.AGPO:they can take inquisters , judges and a host of other characters , they also have , I think 4 or 5 special characters and cyber mastiffs[future-police dogs].

cornixt:

Back in 2nd ed 40K they were just Imperial Guard with particular weapons. Are they different now?

zagor66:

They have revamped rules in necromunda but have thier own"custom" rules for 40k , basically Ill use IG with some SM weapons and tanks or should I use Sisters of battle instead…

Malificant:

the enforcers in necromunda ARE NOT the arbites. they are 2 separate branches of the 40k popos.

i was not saying use sisters models, just the army list with some other (possibly necromunda or archive arbites) models. this would work as you would get access to inquisitors, use the canoness entry as the arbites judge, and could use archo flaggellents as cyber mastiffs(or sisters repentia and the mistress is the handeler).

Um yes they are , they are a type of arbite squad , such as patrol and combat squads.:hat off

This_Is_My_Boomstick!!:

chris from our gaming club has an arbites army, he used the sm scouts as a base for them, he also has cold one riders (bikes) and 3 carnasaur riders (using the creature rules in the wd)

he uses one of the lists in one of the journals

no they're not. The Adeptus Arbites are a galaxy spanning policing and judicery organisation who mainly deal with the higher classes and major imperial servants (to 'remind' them of their duties). The Enforcers are one of many similar local organisations merely modeled on the Arbites that do the more day to day policing of the commoners. Arbites would get personally involved in open rebellion amoungst the commoners, but not mere gan warfare ala Necormunda.

wallacer:

I thought the Arbites were basically just the Imperial Police Force.

Seems like there’s more to them than that…

zagor66:

still quite a nice army to collect , “Bad Boys , Bad Boys ,Whatcha Gonna Do , Whatcha Gonna Do When They Come For You”!!!

torn:

as far as i can remember arabites with their judges were always some sort of parody on judge dread, and were never much more than that. the models were pretty cool, much better than the necromunda enforcers .

I used to have a converted model of a judge in terminator armour with an assault cannon. not sure if he was legal in 2nd ed but he certainly did kick ass.

AGPO:

I remember the old GW JD models, They rocked!

zagor66:

torn , do you have pictures of this model? If you do please post them.trying to figure out what hat/helmet to give my judge.

Xander:

Enforcers are not Arbites.

However, Arbites are Arbites.

And before the new edition of Necromunda you could field a team of Arbites.

Lord Zarkov:

Yep; and they were sick, a 5 man team that would take on multiple gangs and beat them all. Was back before enforcers existed as a separte entity though.

X-Porter:

I’ve got a squad of Arbites with shotguns and a Necromunda Enforcers squad that I’m going to use in my Imperial Guard Penal Legion army as Field Police. Probably as Stormtroopers.

I also plan on converting a mounted squad with Hunting Lances and riot shields to use as Roughriders.

Man, I really need to get to work on some of this stuff…
