Imo the more steampunk the better, but I agree, it is very clearly gothic. Which imo is actually more of an issue than the fact that it’s quite futuristic looking.
There is a ‘basilisk’ version using the same base coming out soon that is very nice as well.

In terms of scale (based on the other images in the above link) it looks like it would fit in great with a CD army. Excellent find. How did you manage to find this one Grim?
