[Archive] Alternative Lamassu

Rakkzul:

Hey there!

Do you know any good alternative Lamassu? I know about the mantic and raging heroes ones, but I don’t like the mantic one and RH’s is a bit expensive

I’m interested in even GW lamassus, if you’re selling one :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Thanks :hat off

Abecedar:

None really come to mind. There is always the creation / conversion route.

Malorndk:

Black Tree Design has made one which seemed rather cheap. I don’t own it, have no idea about size and quality, but it looked super retro

Bloodbeard:

Check out Golden Hat XX for some sweet lamassus. There’s the Raging Heroes Sphinx head just on the GW plastic manticore. That looks super awesome!

Loidrial:

aside from the resin cast from the gw store? i always loved the manticore + shedu head from raging heroes too.

Shedu/Sphinx Head - Raging Heroes

eventually just the head on any big ass winged bull, or even that sphynx from khemri from gw

Jackswift:

The Raging Heroes Shedu head can be used to convert just about any similarly sized winged beast. On most core models, it’s hard to get the right kind of Lammasu look without a significant amount of green stuff to the head. You might want to consider just the Raging Heroes head and then take a look at the plethora of Reaper Bones monsters and dragons that have come out within the past few years. Several of them are sized just about right, and the bones material is remarkably easy to chop up (if a bit on the flexible side). Not something I’ve seen done, but would make a unique and inexpensive conversion.

gorgarrak:

Mine is the Shedu head on the GW Chimera, it needs some work attaching the head and I’ve decided to model it in flight by extending the wings and straightening the tail but this is not strictly needed just personal preference. I does make a dynamic Lammasu though

I thought he looked for a less expensive option ; -).

I like the new orc beast but am not convinced until now that it will make a proper chaos dwarf mount honestly. Looking forward to the final result :-).
