[Archive] Another kit bashed battle standard

TheHoodedMan:

Hiho,
my battle standard bearer was built from the infernal guard champion, the right hand from a AoW Corrupter as well as the left hand with the hammer. A banner from GW (think Chaos but don`t ask me from which kit) and the bulls head again from the infernal guard. The banner pole is made from wire.

Possible that I change the bulls head to the manticore head from the raging heroes manticore, have to think of that. Some smoothing and a little green stuff work is to be done before basecoating.

Yodrin:

Wow, nice!!

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

TheHoodedMan:

I suggest to make the shaft a bit shorter. For both the standard and the hammer apart from this it looks nice
Thank you :hat off
Maybe you are right with the banner pole. Hm. I will look at him when he is placed in a regiment. Still time to change that ;)
I will take a look at the hammer also but I think the hammer is as long as the great weapons from the RA guys that was what I aimed for.

edit: The hammer is already shortened a lot from its original length ;-).

Perhaps the perspective of the foto is a little misleading. For me it doesnt seem oversized but I have difficulties to imagine I was a dwarf ;). <br>Imagine the hero swinging it in a sweep, Elven heads crushing. It cant be too big ;).

Bloodbeard:

I like him, good conversion. And I think the banner pole i fitting. The banner has obviously been longer back in the past, now millinia old it’s tattered and torn.

You could add some detail to the pole itself. Fairly easy green stuff work, add some rings three to four places and in the button.

Keep the bull skull at the top. The skull of a taurus is much better than the recently chopped off head a lammasu.

I would suggest you chance the pose of the left arm. It seems rather unnatural in the photo. Keeping the hammer straigt, resting on the ground would be better for his wrists - avoid getting a strain.

TheHoodedMan:

Thank you Blood for your feedback. Rings at the pole are a good idea and this should not be too difficult. The hammer resting on the ground: I had this first before I shortened the weapon shaft. But you are right it would look more natural and realistic (Herby), too. I will try both.
