nitroglysarine:
I have 120 of these contact lens containers, I’ve used 20 to make some hobgoblin proxies. But has anyone got any ideas for alternative ideas for them? I had considered shields, but they are a bit big for that.

furrie:
Can you take a photo with a miniature next to it, so we can see how there are size wise.
Naagruz:
I can think of a multitude of things to do with those for 40K, but for WFB my ideas are somewhat limited.
-Boiler doors
-Wheels
-Random armor for monstrous critters/war machines
-Really large cannon breech
G.2:
Put them in your bitz box, and keep them for when a project arises for when you do need them.
nitroglysarine:
Yeah, I thought of saving them, but there MUST be some kind of a use. They are 20mm across (just measured them)
I did just have a thought about squat wheels for tanks, bikes etc…
Necrotique:
Perfect size for ogre gutplates in my opinion, or if you put two together you could make wheels pretty easily. What does the small writing say? Might look runic once painted. Or you could use them for a shieldbearer.
:cheers
nitroglysarine:
I think its printed with the lens iris size, so that would be 14.2mm
(yes I have a memory for useless info)
Necrotique:
I’d say ogre gut-plates, or even for a giant. In that quantity though, I don’t know what to do with them.
If you collected chaos I’d say use it to make Discs of Tzeentch
:cheers
nitroglysarine:
I did consider using them as hover things for a tau conversion army, but not to sure if you actually field a army completely made of drones :-p

Upper and lower dome for the saucer section of the original U.S.S. Enterprise!

cornixt:
Does paint stick to them okay? They look like the plastic will have trouble with water based paints at least.
nitroglysarine:
A layer of black spray and they are fine for acrylics.
They do look like port holes :-/ hmmm, might be something in that
Ogrob:
Too deep to make some Hoplite-style shields, I suppose?
nitroglysarine:
Not that deep, they would work, but they would be pretty huge shields!
Tarrakk Blackhand:

My advice: Throw them out and you’ll soon find out. Happens all the time for me. Every time wife tells me to part with some of my toys - it’s a rule - that straight after it’s gone, I find use for it.
Playing 40K? - think they could be useful in much 40K alien world terrain pieces.
Also looks rather useful for mixing paints in. Super glued to a piece of card of course.
G.2:
You could use them as “shields” but not for your warriors, as decorations on buildings. Or simply glue onto buildings for architectural interest.

You could always link them together for your own scalemail armour
