Hashut’s Handbag:
When I started plotting my army a fortnight ago, I had decided to keep the force relatively small. Now, I think I’d like to extend the army to about 2000 points.
As the title states, I’d really like to know the lowdown on CD Warmachines in AOS.
Are they worth the points? Which ones should I be looking at, if so? And, should any of them be avoided at all costs?
Best,
John.

Oh, God, I’ve just released how much of a mess of left that title. Sorry! :o

If you edit your first post, you can also edit the title

The big advantage of the Legion of Azgorh war machines are that they aren’t a unit and a machine so you don’t have the vulnerabilities associated with your crew getting picked off and gradually weakening your shooting attacks. Plus if you have an Iron Daemon or Skull Cracker they have really good mobility, though it’ll take some finesse to actually use it since you want your tanks smashing into stuff and your guns near the back.
As to whether they’re worth the points: I think the pitched battle rules are a bit too new to answer that. War machines on the whole are pretty expensive compared to the level they were at in WHFB, and I’m not convinced by the LoA costs yet (quite a few things are cheaper than they should be compared to similar units in other factions).
So I dunno. You might as well go for it if you like the models!
