Time of Madness:
Yes Dwarfs would be the first army they have produced. If you go to the AoW website shop you can see all the minatures they have forsale. Most are character models other then the dwarf slayer unit and the chaos warrior unit.
It would be nice to see them hit $50,000 as most of the dwarf line would be completed.

For the large amounts people could be sending in I personally would hope to get a Loan Note or some such thing, basically a legal document to say that you are a creditor and can recover your debt in goods or services as agreed at the point of lending if you so choose. It's all about trust. Most people are only in for a tiny bit and almost no project will set the creators up for life. You are going to have to live the rest of your life under the shadow of having suckered people. That million of dollars will get used up quickly and then what when the FBI is after you?

so this is my first glimpse of AoW figures..... and im blown away by their lords and champions..... Are dwarfs the first full army they are doing?Yeah they have only done heroes or the odd unit before, I think they totally own Mantic in both terms of concept style and quality of the finished product. Plus I think that on the whole they wont look too out of place next to the GW dwarf range if the heroes and slayers are anything to go by. I will definately support this if they get closer to their target.

Well i donated ! since he made Berserker Dwarf first …
now save up my pennys so he make a dwarf Pirate army too
Pyro Stick:
I dont think they are going to make it personally. Their goal is too big and they cant afford to offer rewards on the level Mantic are, which is a shame because AoW wipe the floor with Mantic quality wise. Compare the $5000 pledge for example. AoW are offering a 5 day sculpting tour for you and three others but you dont actually physically get anything and you have to make all your own travel arrangements. Also they are charging for shipping on their cheapest pledges. For the same price Mantic are offering a 1000 point army, a model sculpted in your likeness (but i doubt their ability to do so) and named by you, a copy of an upcoming supplement, input on the Human rules, and you get to go down to Mantic to get your army and have a game. Its a shame Mantic are getting all the funding because AoW will make models of a much higher quality but they arent making it appealing enough for contributors. Im sure they could offer something much better for $5000. They should have tried doing this a unit at a time and then all the lords/heroes, then the war machines etc and they should have chosen something less generic than Dwarfs. They should have pushed forward their Apoc Dwarfs using this instead.

Avatars of War have made some changes with their perks, do check it out!
http://www.indiegogo.com/aow-dwarfs
For $15 you know will get an artwork print, and for $5 you will participate in a lottery where the winner will receive one of every future AoW release (!). For the $30 perk you will participate in a raffle for a green AoW hero sculpt. The raffles are unsure to stay, though, because Indegogo forced a closedown of an earlier crowdfunding campaign’s lottery perk. Also the AoW tournament tour is down to a more reasonable $1000.

I have supported the mantic kickstarter amd haven’t supported
AoW on indiegogo for the simple reason that i want a chaos dwarf
Army and don’t need a dwarf army.
Looking at the quality, i’m amazed AoW haven’t had the same
Level of backing. If they did CD figures i’d be throwing money at them.
In comparison to CD Players, dwarf generals must mostly happy
with the choices they already have

I think the problem is that AoW is on indiegog and mantic on kickstarter
Satan:
My thoughts:
1. The savings on ordering f.e. a unit box of 20 miniatures is not big enough, which would necessitate additional incentive to get folks to pledge. Like a freebie or exclusive addition.
2. The timing of both Mantic and AoW is not very good, when they saw that Sedition Wars was up they should’ve given their respective projects more time or preferably launch at a later date: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coolminiornot/sedition-wars-battle-for-alabaster
3. Sedition Wars is doing one critical thing that I think both Mantic and AoW have missed - they have their miniature prototypes (not all of them) ready, which I think is a big incentive, since you can actually see the thing you’ll be getting. In my personal case I’d be interested in seeing how Mantic’s new Immortal Guard will look like, but without even a concept sketchto go by it’s not as if I’ll readily pledge for them.
4. The focus is too narrow - there’s already a whole bunch of dwarf miniatures out there. They should’ve added something unique for their particular universe which isn’t readily available elsewhere - be it themed terrain pieces, new sculpts for other races that haven’t been previously unveiled, combo-packages including miniatures already available for example.
Satan:
Oh, and I can’t seem to find the rules for the Warthrone gaming system anywhere? At this point in time I think it’s crucial to have it out there, seeing as how not exactly everyone is fond of WHFB 8th anymore - a pledge option for the rules or with an exclusive that’d appeal to many people or have a high “attraction” (I.E “Cool”) might’ve been just the thing at this point in time.
Admiral:
Good points, Satan, although I have a hard time seeing how people have tired of Warhammer 8th edition.
The fundraising campaign is soaring toward the $20k main goal, standing at $16,140 at the moment. They might make it! If anyone is interested in seeing Dwarf Bear Warriors anytime soon, consider a donation to help bring the raised funds up to $23k.
Animatone:
Just donated! "100 Models Strong"
Hope that their Elite Armored Dwarfs can be converted to some tricked out Ironsworns once they become available.
Either way their stuff is killer and it’ll be nice to have even more multi-part kits to convert with, especially with the quality of their Slayers and Warriors of Apoc!
Can’t wait!
Admiral:
They will make it! Avatars of War’s crowdfunding campaign now stands at $19,600, with four days left to go. $400 is a petty affair, but will it reach the Dwarf Bear Warriors goal at $23,750?
Well, I’m on the bandwagon at last. A limited edition standard bearer is too good to pass up, even for such a scroogy man as me.
rpitts2004:
$250.00 until the goal! can’t wait to get my standard bearer
Admiral:
To clarify:
Limited edition of Dwarf army battle standard bearer! Get 'em while they’re hot!

THEY hit it!WOOOOOH

Bear warriors next to come! I think these will be hit. Though a Dwarf king on war bear seem too distant a possibility.
Admiral:
Here we see the upcoming Ironshield dwarves. I believe the AoW folks work pretty fast, although of course mr. Paniagua’s dwarf madness might play a part
