If lore of metal is used, he has a 2+ ward save, because all lore of metal is fire and the dragon helm takes care of that

Empire knights can get the same for cheaper. Way cheaper. Less str and T, but 1/3 tthe cost. (that and you’re not forced to take 120+ pts of units just to field him)

I would also recommend Dragonhelm, Great Weapon, Blackshard Armour and Crown of Command (the 'Roadblock' build). Or Blackshard Armour, Shield, Sword of Anti-Heroes and The Other Trickster's Shard (for when you absolutely have to kill every character in the unit).
Grimbold Blackhammer:
I recently discovered the Sword of Anti-Heroes gives +1 for every enemy character in base to base contact (as opposed to +1 for every character in the unit) which makes it less desirable. A Tau’ruk’s base size is enough that it still may be worth it but I think there are other options.

It gives +1 for each character in base-to-base with the bearer or his unit. Doesn’t matter if you run him solo ofcourse
