[Archive] BeDerken Dwergs / Darkling Rebranding & Models!

Nicodemus:

Dave King has had more BeDerken dwergs in the pipeline for some time now, in addition to a number of related models and related bits and pieces.  Just within the last 24 hours his Bederken site has being rebranded “Darkling Games”.  Although there aren’t any Bederken dwergs just yet, there are five new models that have been listed in the Darkling personality category, some of which are already for sale on the Miniature Heroes web store, of which many of us are already familiar.

Dave’s models are fantastic and these new Darkling models look just as good as his first release dwergs, not to mention most of these new models will fit right at home in a Chaos Dwarf collection!

I plan to order all of them, but I may need more than one dwarf zombie!

Bolg:

I love that chest!

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

Da Crusha:

I love that chest!

Bolg
me too! I instantly thought... DUNGEONBOWL!

the zombie dwarf is great Too.

GodHead:

I don’t like them at all. That “mushy” pastel painting look for fantasy miniatures hasn’t appealed to me since the 80’s.

Borador:

Good to see Dave is still doing stuff! I’ll follow his new stuff now then (:

For shame young beardling! Dave has more creativity and talent in his little finger than all the rest of us combined. Plus the 80s and early 90s is the best period of warhammer IMO.

Excellent stuff! The chest is my favorite too. I hope we see some dwerg rank and file soon!

Cheers,

Blue

Borador:

Aye those where the days for warhammer too IMO. So much character and such a great style all

miniatures had back then.

And to think I wasn’t even born yet when most miniatures I own where made…

I love Dave’s style, he reminds me of the good old days.

Some dwerg rank n files would be nice, which scale a wee bit better than the previous set (lovely as I find those too haha).

Nicodemus:

Not the best photo, but it gives you the general idea about quality and relative size of each of the models.

Borador:

Thanks for the picture Nico!

Threadbare:

Haven’t checked his site in awhile, thought maybe there might be news on more Dwergs. And I wasn’t disappointed, there is plenty of news, including something new in the works involving a cannon and an ass.

Wonder what that could be

It do look good - but digital sculpted and 3D printed …? Hmm, not sure I really like that. Go back pushing putty, Dave

Yodrin:

The chest is nice, the other are meeeehhhh, not for me I think

Zanko:

So far I like the style, like the other Bederken ones! :hat off

I hope Dave will finish the next models soon! :cheers

The chest and orc. Just look at them. That’s the reason why I have that webstore’s address saved for future purchases. Lovely stuff.

The asscannon might be a must-buy…

To some degree I concur. Like Borador my opinion of this cannot be said to be clouded by nostalgia, since I entered the GW hobby during the Eye of Terror campaign, and I still hold a lot of those best 6th edition miniatures in high regards to this day. Yet, Warhammer was good before my nostalgia era.

Quality is obvious regardless of age.

Whilst Warhammer have lots of lovely stuff nowadays, it often can’t beat the sheer character displayed in some older miniatures. Dwarfs in particular. The Orc raider with pig was an exception, however.

Plague doc is badass

Abecedar:

I had my wallet ready to wrench open at Cancon this year but no new dwergs yet from dave, so I bought 46 Amazons (28mm) for Saga. mind you i haven’t painted Series One yet either

Zanko:

Dave is back and he announced some new Dwergs! :cheers

I’m quite happy that he seems that he finally defeated his chronic illness! :hat off
