[Archive] Being a Dark Angels player *finally* pays off

Thorne:

£65 for the set. £8 for 12 inches of greenstuff. £15 for cypher failcast = fallen angels force… So tempting.

rpitts2004:

That’s about 80 usd I figured it would be more considering the current is 99 for fantasy and 40k. I highly doubt it would be cheaper considering games workshops current pricing

Its 1 British pound = 1.5692 U.S. dollars, so be $102.04. I buy alot of stuff in USD so pays know the conversion rate.

Sorry mate.

Hashut’s Blessing:

I’m quite surprised that it is 2 power armour armies (despite rumours), but it should present a slightly more even playing ground (model numbers for kids that bicker and power levels for kids that bicker :stuck_out_tongue: ). Very cool set, actually - much more dynamic than the previous set. The models alone would make me consider this (that chosen champion needs one cable ont he maul removed and a bit of fur where the backpack is, he’s golden for Fantasy!). seems I may end up getting into 6th edition after all, mostly for these models, lol.

Actually quite pleased with this set - restores a little of my incredibly lost faith in GW. I had, in fact, decided no more money from me again, but the daemons hold a good place and this kit really makes me reconsider my decision. Hopefully we’ll see more of the same good thoughts coming through!

beefcake:

I may just be going chaos 40k after seeing this. Cultists. Woo Hoo. That hellbrute rocks too.

My conversion is broken :)

Bassman:

Who cares of the Dark Angels (Every loyal marine suck ehehheehhe) those cultists are awesome!

Great starting set. It seems that GW want to tempt you to enter games with those starter sets and then maul you with rest of the army prices…

Thommy H:

Starter sets are generally pretty good value. Bear in mind that these aren’t multi-part figures, so the cost of producing them is relatively low, despite the high level of detail. I’ll almost certainly get it, regardless of cost (and the fact that I already have at least one of all the Dark Angels units in the set…)

beefcake:

I really just want a bunch of cultists. Not only good for Necromunda but they will make great brood brothers for my genestealer cult. I’m itching with anticipation. Especially after the let down of the Bull centaur gargantuans that are out of my price range. Forgot to say before. Great find there Thommy.

Gilius Thunderhead:

how funny,a month ago i bought a starter painting set with dark angels marines inside and now this?

seems there are greater forces are work here, asking me to just get this set…well, who am i to oppose, especially when there are such great chaos models as a bonus too!

really hope in a reasonable price.lol.

beefcake:

Bits and Kits have pieces up for pre-order. Just got me some cultists. 25 pounds for 20 though. 15 pounds for that hellbrute. Another time beefcake… another time.

Chico
games workshop makes my wallet cry:(

Samanos:

is the starter set limited version?

Chico:

Yes there will be a limited version, nicer box and extra DA Chaplain.

Ravenswood:

So I will not sleep in the preorder night, want LE box. It is huge reinforsments for my DA army!

Psychotherapist:

Ooooh no, those DA are so great… I feel that GW is going to steal money from my wallet…

beefcake:

I can see me making a solely cultist army. I’ll also need some demons for them to worship… hmmm Tzeentch or Khorne (sorry about the spelling), maybe along with my genestealers. In the old (2nd ed?) tyranids rulebook genestealer cults could ally with Chaos. I may go down this track and have an army that swings both ways

If anyones interested in Necromunda Chaos cultist rules. http://files.sigil.biz/data/gw_02_chaos_cultist_coven.pdf

Admiral:

The power armoured miniatures keep on improving with every new release. Those Chaos Cultists, however, is precisely what 40k needs! As a bonus they’re armed with autoweapons, and those should be easy to use for Imperial Guardsmen. A Lost and the Damned army seem not too difficult to pull off now. This was the stuff I dreamt of back in the Eye of Terror days!

Ghrask Dragh:

Yeah I think the cultists have stolen the show a bit here for me, even though those Chaos guys are unbelievably detailed and that brute looks incredible the cultists are loads more universal, thinking about conversions and adding more depth to the 40k universe outside of heavy armoured marines.

DA amazing as per usual, cultists ftw

Chico:

Only be after the Cultists myself, so everything else will be up for grabs when i get mine.
