Just wondering what lores that the CD have access to work best against each army. I try to build all comer lists and use the magic lore option to tweak the lists for a specific army.

I don’t believe there is a ‘best lore’ versus anyone actually. Each one has its pluses and minuses but I think the answer is more specific to each specific army build nowadays. It’s possible to make very broad generalizations but those would be very broad indeed.
Hashut’s Blessing:
As above really - the best lore depends on what you have, what they have, how you play, how they play, what spells you get, what you combine it all with, terrain set-up, deployment etc, etc.
Ultimately, it depends what you want it to do against them. Damage? Just use Fire. Character/Leadership draining? Death. Boons/banes? Metal.
As I say - it depends on what you want to happen with your magic: how you play.
