originally I only wanted to have a Big Hat crew for my own war machines. So I found the pictures from the zonk-scam a few years back and figured why not trying something similar (i mean the models, not the scam…obviously). So i started getting ideas and to make a long story short I got together with a sculptor. It looks like I had a lucky day when I found him. So we talked, shared ideas and here is what my plan is now. I will have him make a set of 4 Chaos Dwarf Big Hat Crew. My idea is to make a set that can be used for more that just one type of war machines. What was originally just a idea of recasting and modifying the zonk-scam miniatures has now become a plan of producing my own line and selling them online. I set myself a limit of what I am willing to invest to get this started. If I get my investment back at one point I will look into having some more miniatures created. I live in Asia, am originally from Europe (my parents are still there) and work in the US. I am planning to have stocks in all 3 locations which should help when it comes to shipping costs. I am deadly honest here, I have never done something like this before and this entire thing might not work at all. Who knows? But I figured sometime you have to take a risk.
Now about my first product (it looks nice to read it like that…). As mentioned I want to create a set of 4. I am planning 2 versions. One made in resin that will be less expensive and later on a edition in a in metal. I am planning to sell them single but also as set. The idea is to price them in a way that the set of all 4 will cost the same as 3 individual mini’s.
The set will include two miniatures that will be “fixed”, meaning without options. The first one will carry a cannon ball, the second one will be the commander with binoculars. Then I am planning to add 2 more with different options so all in all you can put together your own set for whichever war machine you like.
Now here is the first one. He is not yet finished. Details will still be added or changed. As you may notices its close to the zonk-mini although changes have been made. The other 3 will be more different from the zonk-mini’s. This was the start but I am quite excited. Would like to hear what you think about this.
