I should say very neglected. I first started collecting and playing CD’s in 1995, and have painted my first model this week. Dont get me wrong, I played them almost exclusively for years, but didnt like my painting style (or lack thereof). It also didnt help that my group had an awesome painter.
So anyway, I have a league coming up soon and wanted to play CD’s, but they have been retired from the league. So I decided to use them anyway as a “counts as” Empire army. I plan to use NG’s as spearmen and swordsmen; Blunderbuss CD’s as marksmen; CD’s with great weapons as Greatswords; Earthshakers as mortars; and so on.
So here is my first test model to see if I like the color scheme. I think it works.
Next up is my Sneaky git conversion. Plague monk body and arms and a cast hobgob head.
Next up is my steamtank. Whole lot of bits here. I wanted it to be a mix of 3rd and 4th/5th ed styles.
And if I didnt want to bring a stank, remove the magnetized steam gun and add a platform for a war altar.
Now to get crackin. Hopefully I will manage to get through most of it before I suffer from “ooooh, shiny” disease again
I cast the Hobgob heads myself. I buffed up my sneaky git unit with 6 of these guys, have another 10 for wolf riders/pistoleers and have enough to do a regular unit of Hobgoblin warriors. Going to continue using the plague monks for the warriors. I like that they look more like the art on pg 7 of the CD book than the actual models they released…
