This is the blog covering the construction and development of my FIRST EVER Chaos Dwarf army!
Please let me warn you that I am no expert converter or even painter, I just love developing an army based around an idea and if I like the look of it, then Ill be happy…no entries for GH or GD Im afraid
Plan:
The plan is to complete a 3000 pt army following the LoA rules hopefully over the next 3 months.
I dislike the big hat style CD so Im going to be basing my CDs around the FW Infernal Guard, however, I will be using the following miniatures as cheaper alternatives:
Hehe how nice to see so many people using Bagg's models. (Titan Wargames is runned by a member (Baggronor) of this forum, hence the reaction :))
Your list sounds interesting and I am curious to see what you will put up here!
Borador
Really glad to hear that Baggronor (Baggs) is the genius behind the chosen CD minis and he's a member her, may have to pick his brains a bit ;)
the list is purely an amalgamation of all the units, minis and models that I like the sound of / love, I have no idea whether it will be competitive or fun to play.
Due to the train delays yesterday (no surprise there) I did not get a chance to post any pics of WIP…apologies.
this evening I will be looking at what characters I have and what I can do with them.
I have the 3 metal Mantic Abyssal Dwarf characters and Im planning on using the sorceror model as an “as is” daemonsmith…no converting, just a paintjob, possibly a firey theme.
the Bull Centaur model I just love, so i will have to see how it scales up to the Centigor/BC conversions Im considering. It will be a crying shame not to use the model.
As for the AoW Overlord model…Im now thinking of using it as a Castellan BSB, so Ill be playing around with mounting banner poles (2) on his back, if it is possible. I was thinking of using the Mantic Abyssal Dwarf metal spiral/twisted standard poles as they look a bit more special. I will be trying out Norngahl’s (thanks) posted recipe for a bronze armour paint scheme to see how it looks.
Looking forward to seeing your stuff. Can I ask, are you called brother_cov for geographical reasons?
BeeZharr
ha ha.....no, its a combination of "brother slaughterer" which is a Khorne Bezerker title and "Thomas Covenant" which is the name of a character in my favourite book.

Good, I was High time we got another non big hat lover in our midst. and what a great choise in miniatures you have there (:
Thanks for that. Ive never painted fire before but will see how it goes.
Thinking of using a WE Treeman to represent a K'daai Manburner (?).
Currently assembling a LOTR Balrog to represent a K'daai Destroyer, once that is completed I will commence the painting.....fingers crossed it works ;)
Hopefully going to start painting the Treekin / Fireborn models this evening.
I have never painted fire before but Ive been given, what looks like a thorough recipe for fire from a painter on Warseer, so I will see how it goes.
Also going to try and get hold of a WE Treeman to represent a K’daai Manburner, as well as some ork truk bits to add to the Dwarf Flame Cannon to represent a Magma Cannon (not sure if it will work)
