[Archive] Camo netting?

Thorne:

Now I know this is Chaos dwarfs online but I have a issue. I am making several tanks from scratch from plasticard and odds and endsI havelaying about for a Imperial guard army. The problem lies in what are the better ways of adding camo netting to your models. Im looking for some cool cotton/netting to use. Now I know you guys are a creative bunch so what would you do?

nitroglysarine:

i’ve (many years ago) used bandage and watered down pva, you can get bandage dressing that is quite open weave that’d be ideal.

-i recall the pva removed the problem of the cotton fluffing up and making the model looking more like a carrying a bush on it, an issue i had in the beginning.

nitroglysarine:

ah! or something iv’e been using for a LRP purpose - car polishing cloths, they have an excellent open weave!

cornixt:

Sounds like cheesecloth would work well then.

Grimstonefire:

There probably are many products out there, but one I would use is the netting garlic comes in.  That is a really tight weave.

Onion netting is quite good as well and more open, but avoid orange netting (it comes apart).
