[Archive] CD Army Inspiration

gerryb:

Hi Guys

I’ve just bought a Mantic CD army for King of War.

As the whole unit is one base there is chance to do some mini Diorama’s

Looking some simple ideas to theme them

I’ve thought about Samurai themed with back banners and bamboo fences etc.

Not very up on where CD’s raided or I could use the relevant race casualties on the bases with there themed terrain

Suggestions vert welcome.

Abecedar:

CD’s can raid whereever they want to, so just go with what you’d really like to have.

not real sure what you mean by “the whole unit is one base”? Do you mean they are all the one size?

I like samurai themed figures so yes to that but diorama’s are beyond me.

I was just about to ask the same thing.

gerryb:

each unit has just one base ( no need for casualty removal )

So a 20 man unit could be 100mm x 80mm or 125mm x 100mm

So long as the base size is correct you could leave a few figures off to do mini dioramas

Grimbold Blackhammer:

Like the others I understand you want to make a diorama but not sure what “all on one base” refers to…?

As to samurai dwarves, my instincts say emphatically “no!”.

In WHFB you would have 25 models in a umit say set on bases 5 x 5 in a movement tray.

In KOW all the figure in a unit go one base ( so could all be glued in the movement tray or one base the size of the above

Because you do not have individual casualty removal you could put 20 figs out of the 25 on the base and fill the space with a diorama  say a wagon or small shrine etc )

They are a re pretty good size..... a friend has some as dark elves, but I already bought the mantic ones........ got fantastic deals at their annual gt.

Westwind are very chunky figures. i have around 100 varans guard and some xbowmen that i bought for a failed dwarf project.

must get around to selling them sometime.
