Have had only one result on Bartertown. I got what I wanted, price was average, definitely not a steal. Biggest problem was shipping. It took ages to get the thing, fortunately the buyer was cool.
That is the biggest issue I can see with Bartertown, that if you have a bad seller or buyer (depending on istuation) you could easily get hosed with minimal avenues of action for recompense.
The key to using B-town is paying with Paypal (if you are buying). Paypal protects the buyer a lot more then it does the seller.
If you are doing a straight off trade on b-town always go by feedback. People with little to no feedback I tend not to deal with (unless they are shipping first).

That probably wasnt the sellers fault though. Ive just completed a trade on anohter forum that i started last year. I sent first and the other guy got the package then he sent a few days later. Two weeks later i still had not recieved it so he went down to his local post office to find out what was going on, and the stupid post office had the package! It had been returned due to insufficient postage but they had just kept it at the post office and didnt return it to the sender. So if something doesnt arrive quickly then its is probably the post office that is at fault.

Yes, always let everyone know that you accept/have paypal. In my threads i always say 'Want:.....Have:Paypal'. And you must let them know where you live.

I already checked them out as im thinking of buying his squat in exo armour bits. It seems like he wasnt the one at fault from what he is saying so i dont think there is anything to worry about.
I think people on Bartertown are a bit paranoid at the moment. A lot of them got massively ripped off by The_Trader (thousands of pounds worth), they police actually arrested him but he got off with a caution.
Its a pity I’m about a hundred miles from Hull or I’d have tried to help them out (the little conman made sure he only traded with Americans/Canadians).
