Grimstonefire:
So a scythe is never the most practical of weapons, but it does seem to be popular as an obscure but scary weapon.
Could you see CD with them?
They certainly would reap a tally of rebel slaves with each swing…

Bolg:
I think you need longer legs to properly swing a scythe…
but thats just me.
moses:
I would say no. Scythes have there origin in agriculture, and CD don´t grow their food. Their land is to wasted to grow anything. They trade for weapons, metal an machines.
Or they they send an army to plunder…

GRNDL:
Extremely undwarfy, chaos or otherwise, IMO.
Grimbold Blackhammer:
Scythes are associated with the aspect of death (specifically the “reaper of death”). But they really have nothing to do with dwarves. Not appropriate to me at all.
Da Crusha:
I have an old white dwarf that has ghostly dwarfs wielding scythes, Ill see if I can find it to post the pics.
GeofreyShank:
Scythes are traditionally a more symbolic weapon representing death and the “reaping of souls”.
Two gods within the warhammer fluff use this symbolism:
Morr, a member of the imperial pantheon.
Nurgle, chaos god.
Hashut is more of an industrial god than one of reaping souls.
That being said some of the infernal guard have short handled scythes as hand weapons but they are fairly minimalist in their design.
I say go with your gut on this one. If you feel you can pull it off then do it.

I think if you are looking to differentiate CD’s from dwarfs through weapons I think maces and scimtars would be much more appropriate.
Thommy H:
Also, a scythe is actually a terrible weapon - it’s made to be swung in a single repeated motion and if you were to try and use it in the cut and thrust of hand to hand combat, you’d probably end up dead pretty quickly. Its appearance as a kind of weapon in the hands of folkloric figures is purely symbolic: it’s an agricultural tool, not something used to kill people with.
Da Crusha:
Maces were the reason I started collecting marauder range chaos dwarfs in the first place.

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.
Kera foehunter:
Kick Grimbold in the shins shhhhhhuh you
Abecedar:
If you think about it scythes would be the perfect weapon used to cut enemies of at the ankles or knees.
so short buggers don’t have to look up at them anymore
