Yodrin:

Looks awesome!!! And those AoW minis are really cool!!!

Grimstonefire:

Mental note as I’ll forget. I’m going to pick up one of these as a beast of nurgle when it’s out

Conan: Hyborian Quests

Yodrin:

Wow, I thinks thats a cool model!!

Xander:

Those Ogres are excellent! Well done Grim.

TheHoodedMan:

Those Ogres are excellent! Well done Grim. :)

Xander
I agree. That are the best Chaos Ogres I`ve seen til now. The whole blog is very inspiring.

Grimstonefire:

I’m going to start sculpting a tzeentch ogre tomorrow that will I imagine be unlike anything people have seen before. In chaos armour of course.

Lots of ideas to try, and a combination of tzeentch like features on a single model.

For example, on the nurgle ogres I did a little bit of blending armour to skin like it had stuck and was being pulled off all sinew. With the tzeentch ogre I will be blending skin and armour together all over the place.

I also want to try and bit of a ‘shift’. Like when you have a glass of water and put a spoon in it, it looks shifted off to the side. Not much on this first model but a lot on another maybe. We’ll see.

You make me curious. Painting such optical effects is a big challenge. I am really looking forward to that.
:hat off

Grimstonefire:

So I decided not to do the shift thing on this model, it would be one thing too many.  But here is a Christmas treat, a WIP shot.

He’s going to have a shoulderpad that’s shaped like a hand, and some feathers here and there. Plus some decoration on the armour.

Grimstonefire:

So I haven’t done a great deal on the ogre, but I have been working hard assembling my Blightkings! I got a box of 5 and Gutrot and have made them into a unit of 10 through greenstuff recasting the legs.

It’s workout out reasonably well, but only as it’s nurgle. I wouldn’t recommend that bluestuff reusable moulding stuff for anything other than one part moulds or nurgle things. I could probably cast stuff better if I pressed into a fixed shape (like a lego square).

Anyhow, the conversions worked well and I’ve doubled my models. I’ll finish and base them tonight then take some pics.

Grimstonefire:

I’m going to do a load of work this week on this army and then take some army shots next weekend.

First up, my first chariot

Abecedar:

So many nice details. Really love looking over your work

Yodrin:

Very nice conversion and it looks awesome!!! And the base is really good!!

Grimstonefire:

So finally and for the first time I’ve assembled everything in one place.

The Blightkings were all assembled from one box, with greenstuff casts.

There’s stuff missing from here that’s part of my nurgle army:
Another 15 or so Chaos Warriors (Great Weapon)
9 Chaos Knights
40 Marauders
Ku’gath

Also stuff from my WoC collection:
Lord on Daemonic Steed
Lord on Juggernaut
Wulfrik
Sigvald
Hero
Archaon on Steed.

Middle Row:

40 Plaguebearers
15 Chaos Warriors (Great Weapons)

Yodrin:

A great collection, a great army!!!

Grimstonefire:

Been mostly painting the Blightkings and basing more chaos warriors. But a little something on my work bench.

Also got a champion with converted blightking torso and scythe. Recon that guy would be about 7 feet tall.

Vantraxx the Thrice Cursed:

Great idea with the Chariot! It would work well as a Gorebeast chariot as well. Very nice work.

tjub:

Its a great looking army!

Admiral:

Yes, great army!

Grimstonefire:

Another update.  The first Blight Kings have emerged!

You can’t see him in the pics, but there’s a nurgling hanging from the bell at the back.
