tenderiser/ whirlwind, are the chaos dwarfs allowed chaos allies in thier armies, if so why not use the above cd warmachines as chaos or beastmen chariots so they can be used

wallacer:

I use them as normal Chaos Chariots whenever I play my Chaos army.

So does another guy at my club who plays Chaos as well.

They do the job well, as they certainly look chaotic. And most people I know realise that a chaos chariot comprises crew and horses, so there is no wysiwyg confusion either.

Willmark:

Hmm not a bad idea at all, have to ponder that one for a bit.

Kera foehunter:

a boar centaur chariot would be cool

AGPO:

Thats what I’m planning to use my conversions as when they’re done. Just needs a few more months sculpting, hacking and sticking

Kera foehunter:

well thats cool is it going to be old school boar centaur ??

gIL^:

i may get trolled for this but… i think boar centaurs and tenderiser and whirlwind see very… primitive for a chaos dwarf?

Kera foehunter:

a river troll would be real cool .you could use a coblin shot wagon for a base of the chariot

This_Is_My_Boomstick!!:

the reason i started this discussion is because of the usefullness 2 -3 chariots in a chaos dwarf list would bring to it mainly because of the range and hitting power of them and that 3rd edition cd players can then use the 2 toys they have to smite and run over the enemy

AGPO:

Theres no way you could use them legally in a CD army - we don’t have chariots in our army for precisely the above reason. Mine are just gonna feature in the allied chaos dwarf contingent in my hordes army - Whirlwind/tenderisers = chariots of chaos, bull centaurs = chosen knights, sneaky gits = DoW duelists

This_Is_My_Boomstick!!:

so you cant use them as chaos chariot allies for a chaos dwarf army??

51la5:

Correct however you can you them if you do a chaos army using chaos dwarf models.

wallacer:

The main problem with having chariots in a CD list is that it would unbalance the army.

The list is designed to be (for the most part) an anvil rather than a hammer.

If you start adding in chariots it changes the entire dynamic of the army.

AGPO:

Thus why chaos doesn’t have war machines, khemri doesn’t have proper heavy cavalry and no elf has better than toughness three

i posed the question on warseer and because there are no formal rules for allies in warhammer, they say if your opponent is fine with it then theres no problem, i tend to agree

Willmark:

It really sucks because they are way cool models. And assuming that being beasts if burden that boar centaurs are some type of slave, I thus see no reason why a CD army could not have them in the list, even with the focus on daemon spawned/powered weapons. They are that eclectic of a force IMHO.

Malificant:

the only formal allies rules are for kislev.

cornixt:

Are they really beasts of burden if they are pushing killing machines? It is only a (complicated) weapon, and a BC with an axe would never be considered a beast of burden. It’s not like they are pulling the food cart.

AGPO:

Not sure. You wouldn’t call a warhorse a beast of burden and I’m not sure what level of intellegence a boar centaur has - is it a beast or a being?
