@Carandini: the author himself here, that's cool! Welcome aboard, first time visiting here or a lurker for a longer time?
Obsidian
I'm usually a lurker - I was drawn here originally when I spotted some very awesome but decidedly, ahem, 'alternate' Chaos Dwarf models on a Mordheim site. I just had to find out where I could get my mits on such nasty little chaps. Fortunately, it looks like we'll be getting lots of stuff from War Forge though. Perhaps the dark days are over?
Oh, and I'm surprised there's been no mention of Gav Thorpe's Grudgebearer yet. Talk about major involvement of the Dwai Zharr in a book - that one has a whole army of 'em. Though I will say mine get a bigger role and more 'screen time', I just hope they come off half as well as those from the pen of Herr Thorpe.
I think we mention Grudgebearer quite a lot around here - indeed, it’s become the basis of conversions, rules and heaps of expanded background. It features the only mentions of the Kolossus and Immortals, which are so enshrined in fanlists that you’d think they were there all along.
It’s so fundamental a source that it really goes without saying.
Indeed, [[Grudge Bearer]] is pretty much fundamental to the fan fiction and fan lists now. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t pick up a copy when I could, and now it is tough to find.

Care to share which particular models you liked? I know most of the members can help you out with one or two conversions! :cheers

Well we are mostly waiting for official GW rules as we tend to build and convert most of the models ourselves but the ones by War Forge are more than welcome of course!:)
For my sins, you’ll be getting more Immortals in Wulfrik - so they blamed well better do them in the next army list! Couldn’t work in a Kolossus though - however I think you’ll enjoy the stuff that is in there. I really did try to hit as many aspects of the Dwai Zharr as I could.
Thanks for the kind words about my skaven epics. I’m just about to start the next Thanquol novel, so there’s a bit more to look forward to if scheming conniving ratmen are your thing. And they should be.
I’d really have to go back and have a think to recall which models exactly drew me here. I do know they were done in the ‘new’ masks and helmets style with the curled beards. I tend to like that look as it evokes both the 4th edition Chaos Dwarfs and the truly ancient ones from the days of WFRP 1st edition.
Palace of the Plague Lord starred a CD prominently among the cast, and he mentioned Hashut in Witchhunter.
Ancient History
This is very true i own Palace of the Plague Lord very good read, the CD in that is very good, i have not read witch hunter yet, they also had a major bit in Knight of the Realm by Anthony Reynolds
Loki
I also like to sneak a specific dwarf curse into books whenever I can: 'Hashut's Bald Beard', spoken in the same tone as 'Emperor's Black Bones'.
Be sure to let me know what you think Loki. It was a bit of a fight to get the Chaos Dwarfs in there, and then I kind of stretched their part out more once I did have them in there. I'll be especially interested what the reaction is to the viragos, a distinctly debased sort of slayer analogy.
Carandini
I most certainly will :D, also a big welcome to the site :D, I have actual read Witch Hunter and i am at the mo working my way through Brunner the Bounty Hunter i read on average 2-3 black library books a month and some times lose track of which ones i read, I have yet to get my hands on the skaven ones but they are on my ever growing list of books to read along with Wulfrik, I cant wait for december to get my hands on a copy now :)
WOW! can’t believe we have the author himself here!
Brunner was an absolutely fantastic read, one of the best I’ve read frankly, and Temple of the Serpent was great, even better than the first book in the series and that was rather good to start with! Can’t wait for the next one!
I think you’ve talked me into buying the Wulfrik book now too!!
Thanks for the kind wored Klemanius. I’m really hoping I’ll be able to sneak some more Brunner stories out there with the new Hammer and Bolter e-magazine, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Maybe with War Forge’s antics, I can even get Brunner to go up against the Dawi Zharr. I have a rough idea about him getting hired to rescue somebody who’s been taken by a dwarf slavemaster on his way back to the Dark Lands.

Alright guys I just finished the part of “Wulfrik” with the Chaos Dwarfs in it. And boy will everyone here love it! Let me see what we got -
Hobgoblin allies, Slavemasters, Blunderbusses, Magical Statues, a bull centaur, a Lamassu and CD Sorceror complete with stone feet ^^, a sacrificial lava pit, a mighty ziggurat, Immortals, bald priestesses of Hashut, bound daemons, rocket grenade launchers (sort of), a brazen-bull like contraption and an evil overlord in a huge mechanical steam-powered battle suit! o.O
Carandini, I don’t know yet what you put into the next chapters, but this part has certainly earned you some eternal friends in the Dawi Zharr community! :cheers
I think you’ll enjoy where the story goes from there. Even if Khorakk plays no further role, one of his little artefacts does.
And I just have to say how damn happy I was to get the Chaos Dwarfs back in action and in such a big way. Truthfully, the fellows kept enslaving chapters from the rest of the book, forcing me to eliminate my Lustrian epilogue I had planned. ah well, maybe I can take Wulfrik there in a sequel.
And I really like the army fonejaker. My favorite so far has to be the slavemaster, though the lammasu is quickly winning me over. Damn does it look like the viragos and Khorakk took alot of work. Going to tackle any Immortals while you’re at it?

i going to wait for Baggronor to do his immortals, il just pimp them up to match the book
Have got my copy of Wulfrick coming for Christmas so no doubt by boxing day i will be half way through it, come on Christmas hurry up and get here so i can start to read
Nice to meet an Author…even if i’m sorry to I 'have no idea of who you are, as most of the books of BL weren’t translated or commercialised (do you use this?=P) in my country…
Well, in the end i must say is a good thing to be part of CDO XD
Yep, we do use ‘comercialized’ or ‘comercialised’ depending which side of the Pond you are on. It’s a pity the books haven’t found their way into Italian yet. I know they’ve been making headway in France of late and already have some good distribution in Germany and Spain.
And thanks for the welcome. I really do try to sneak the Chaos Dwarfs into my work. I don’t want the dawi zharr to be forgotten and go the way of the fimir and zoats.
