I have to say these are very tasty models - I am very impressed! I am really fond of the sort of way you have extended the masks down over the upper section of the beards, it looks very good.
I hope you don’t mind if I take some inspiration from these when I get round to doing a unit with great weapons myself?
RoguePanda: I’m pretty fond of it myself, and it took some time before I figured out what to name it, but just for simplicity sake i call it “beard-armour” :)
And ofcourse I dont mind!, that’s what I’m here for :cheers
Borador: I forgot to mention one thing about the banner, the horns are made from old nightgoblin bows, with the metal looking detail cut off. but it would be pretty cool to leave them there aswell.
The skulls on the marauder banner were cut off, and placed on the bases instead.
How I sculpt the skulls would be pretty hard to describe with only words, perhaps I’ll have to make a video…
how did you paint those axes(the ones that look so cool i mean.)?
p.s. those warriors are awesome!
Fequiil
those axes are from my old marauders of khorne, painted maaany many years ago.
I guess it was made with a basecoat of mithril silver on the silver areas, and shining gold on the gold details.
then a wash of brown ink (yes, ink) ....and since they were khorne,
their weapons had to be drenched in bloood! ^^
so plenty of red ink was a must.
really sad part is though that gw doesn't make inks anymore :(
I didn't really like them applied on normal colours, but when used on metallics, they where great! ^^
@ all: thanks for the nice comments!
I really need to get some paint on these fellas ,..ehrm..x.x
