[attachment=1161] these cultists weren’t painted by me, everything else is. [attachment=1162][attachment=1163][attachment=1164][attachment=1165][attachment=1166] the landraider is my first major conversion
Mosk- I was playing Iron Warriors, cause i think they are the most DZ CSM army (Machineries of destruction) or alpha legion if i wanted cultists. Now i just use the generic CSM list. The cultists will be a traitor guard army.
Tjub- I agree. I just couldn’t break up an original landraider though, so if anone has a wrecked one…
Pyro Stick - I have 20. Photos of the painted ones will follow. I’ve been accumulating these for about 6 years now, bit by bit. Once I found out that the DZ made it into space, it became an obsession.
Tarrakk Blackhand - I used a A$2 “dime store” skull sold for aquarium terrain. The tracks were from a wrecked landraider i got from an Ork player. He was an ork and he was a player I made a body with plascard, then covered the upper body with broken bits (rearranged) from a A$4 dinosaur money box from the same dime store. The bits were joined together with green stuff. The sponson skulls were $10 key-ring danglies from a goth shop. It was a lot of fun, more of an assemblage than a conversion. I was inspired by the hellcannon, linking the DZ with daemonically possessed machines and the obvious link to Daemonic Possession/extra armour as upgrades vehicles in 40k. So it was a matter of opportunisticaly looking for anything that looked like a demon skin. Demon=dragon=dinosaur. Skulls, because, well, skulls are an ubiquitous motif in warhammer, especially us bad guys. I liked the idea of my troops pouring out of a skull mouth, the daemonic machines maw. In a way the daemonic vehicle “eats” the enemy. So why does a resin moneybox cost A$4 and a titan A$800!?
