I am located in the U.S.A. and need help finding the cheapest silicon mold possible (as I am lacking in funds, but i really want to mold a piece I sculpted) I don’t care if it is 1:1 or 10:1 I just need some,
and is 10:1 or 1:1 better?

10:1 or 1:1 better? What do you mean? Scale of the miniature?

For resin, I’ve used Alumilite and Quickset as a resin cast before…http://www.alumilite.com/Category.cfm?Category=Silicone%20Rubber
but not sure if you are looking for metal casting, but I’d try here: http://www.bare-metal.com/mold-making-materials.html
I’d think 1:1 would be easier to use, but I’ve never used 10:1 stuff before. Sorry.

He means the ratio of rubber to catalyst. 10:1 is 10 parts rubber to 1 part catalyst. I think 1:1 ensures a proper mix. 10:1 means a little bit of catalyst needs to be mixed in with a hell of a lot of rubber and means a lot of mixing. Cheapest I’ve found is around $40-45 Cdn and is 10:1. Its provided by a local modelling supplier, so it probably won’t help most of the peeps on this site.
It is very similar to the Alumilite silicone rubber though.
