Bloodbeard:

Community Awards 2015

The voting period is over and we have some winners of the community awards 2015.

First of all thanks you to all the Members who took time to nominate their fellow Dawi Zharr. We know a lot of you have spend time browsing old post to make some right 2015 choices.

Thanks to the members who actually votes on the different categories to let us find some winners! We already have some medals ready for 2016 ready, so those will launch right away in 2016 - January.

Let the awards be given!

Best Attitude -

Admiral, is always sunshiny bright. Is an always active member. Browse across the board and encourage fellow hobbyist in their endevours. Very well deserved. Congratulations Admiral.

A member should be nominated on their forum presence and behavior toward other members, displaying exemplary attitudes of kindness and encouragement.

Best General -

TheHoodedMan
, plays more games of Warhammer and 9th Age than a lot of the community combined - further more he post Battle Reports of many battles. Hood is good at offering advice on lists, tactical experiences through his reports. And he kept life in this part of the forum through the chaotic summer of 2015. Very well deserved. Congratulations TheHoodedMan.

This member is always ready to give advice on army lists, has very good lists of his own, and perhaps has won a tournament or two using his Chaos Dwarf army.

Best Hobbyist -

Fuggit Khan
, doing every detail to the dot, CDOs perfectionist extraordinaire! Fuggit Khans skill with greenstuff is one of a kind, he’s ability to make Big Hat conversions seemless. Fuggit has the medals to show this skill through a bucnch of won Golden Hats. A very well deserved medal indeed - and for the third time in a row. Congratulations Fuggit Khan.

A nominee for this award has contributed an amazing model, or models that exemplifies what a Chaos Dwarf army should look like: flawless execution of conversion and painting while adhering to the Chaos Dwarf mythos.

Best Contributor -

Admiral
, contribution to the Chaos Dwarf chaos is excellent. Sculpting hobgoblin heads for conversions and writing fluff. Especially the fluff writing makes Admiral take the Contributor Medal of 2015. Bringing out a constant flow of short stories, poems, songs, sagas and other fiction regarding Chaos Dwarfs. Admiral has hammered out a library worth of fluff through 2015 - and the stories and background forum show it. Congratulations Admiral, well deserved.

This award will go the member that has contributed most to the cause of the Chaos Dwarfs.  He or she has done or made something that has profoundly benefited the presence of Chaos Dwarfs as a whole!

Best Overall Member -

Admiral
. CDO is a community and the best and most friendly miniatures community on the internet. The last half of 2015 was a hard time for CDO and many old Warhammer communities. Communities are made by all the members, but Admiral is special. Admiral steamed through 2015. Bringing a constant stream of competitions for the members to join, making jpg. banners, sending out prizes, putting threads together and counting votes. Admiral pretty much was the entire CDO staff for half a year.

Thank you Admiral, very well deserved. Congratulations.

This member may not be the best hobbyist, might not ever win a tournament, but he or she has a great presence on the site, the forum, the wiki, the chat and whatever else!  They are dedicated to the cause of the Chaos Dwarfs!

Thank you CDO

Thank you members for making this community what it is! Thank you for bringing content to out site! Keep it going.

On behalf of the Staff.

And, importantly, a big thank you to the Dane in red beard for organizing it all. :hat off

2015 was, despite disruptions brought about by GW’s axing of WHFB a quite good year for CDO. We had lots of great End Times contest content, both miniatures and stories, and Thommy H brought out new CD rules for AoS in record time, among other things like Bloodbeard cobbling together lagging-behind image galleries.

Most noteworthy on the contribution front however was Forgefire’s stream of quality illustrations for stories written by our members. Text is all fine, yet it is spiced up immeasurably by images. I was home only very briefly during the community nominations. Had I had a little more time on my hands to even think about asking further details of Bloodbeard, I’d have stepped down from contribution voting in favour of Forgefire.

Last year was a productive hobby year for my part. I even managed to get a standard bearer painted, while all else looked bare green. :stuck_out_tongue:

It took me until this year (with Skink pointing it out as my own suspicions began to form) to realize that the contests I helped organize made for a total down result in miniature painting contests launched during one year’s time, due to longer generous deadlines and having Scribe’s Contest squeezed in serially between Artisan’s and Golden Hat.

To improve upon this we’ll try out a couple of serial contest cycles (GH-AC-SC, then GH-AC-GH-SC), gather feedback, and then maybe even test parallell contests if the Staff gives green light, so that writing competitions will run more frequently than ever while not interfering with the main modelling and painting contests. We originally decided not to run Scribe’s in parallell so as to avoid confusion. This was most likely a sound decision, yet seeing the community awards run in parallell here with the painting contests seem to hint that the formula could work for other types of competitions as well. Could be worth a try.

Here’s to a great second half of 2016. :cheers

Forgefire:

Thanks for the kind words Admiral but you deserve those medals! :hat off

Fuggit Khan:

Thank you to all who voted for me, I’m honored (and a bit humbled) to see that people like my hobby work enough to give me a vote.
And kudo’s to all the nominee’s, 2015 was a good year despite the upheaval of AoS :hat off

And Admiral! Good job! :cheers
