[Archive] Daemon Smith's conquering host

Daemon_Smith:

Hey all,

I haven’t been aquainted with the hobby as some of you veterans have been, and thus only discovered the CDs three years ago. Quickly developing a fondness for the obscure race, I built up a one thousand point force, and then left it on my shelf to collect dust. Recently, however, I became inspired by the many wonderful models and armies on this website and decided to redo my old army (or as the case may be, start abain from scratch).

Here are some of the greens for my first semi-completed unit. I made them out of the BFSP Dwarves, and plan on adding four more and a unit filler. So here they are:

The only model which I have finished painted is my Warrior Slavemaster:

I have also made my Anihilator Slavemaster:

At the moment I’m working on a unit filler for the Warriors, plus the four more I have to make. I’ll make sure I keep you posted!

These are first-rate, I’m impressed. I hope you keep up with them!

Loki:

Great work, your really good with green stuff and your painting is great as well, already looking forward to the next update for this army

Daemon_Smith:

:cheers

Thankyou everyone for your positive comments!

Unfortunately, Zanko, I’m a little slow when it comes to painting, but I’ll try and pick up my game.

The Stormchild:

Very awesome.

I must see more!

Daemon_Smith:

Wow, that was a long gap! I’m afraid I was sidetracked by various other hobby projects, as well as homework. But thanks to the Australian school holiday, I have managed to build more CDs for you guys to look at.

First, my completed unit of Warriors, along with a unit filler:

And now some close ups of the giant Chaos Dwarf!

Notice the tied up hobgoblin in his bag.

And here’s the Sorcerer/Daemonsmith model I’ve made, complete with a Chalice of Fire:

So there you have it, my first few CDs. I am currently working on a BSB and four more models for the 20 strong unit. Till next time!

Da Crusha:

ohh I really like the giant chaos dwarf! but what did you do to his arms, were you trying to make him look fatter?

Daemon_Smith:

No, I want him to be just like the normal CDs when hes painted, so I was just filling in his muscles so it looked like cloth.

Shakhorth:

WOW, love that filler ogre! :o

That’s a great idea for a unit. Love how he looks between your warriors.

Keep it up, want to see more of your work.

Btw I might steel that ogre filler idea. :yar

Da Crusha:

ahh I understand. itll be much more clear when painted.

Daemon_Smith:

Yes Shakhorth, you can use it, just remember to mention me when people ask about it.

Daemon_Smith:

Hey all, here’s a quick update to what I’ve been doing.

My BSB:

And the beginning of a Rabble unit:

And here’s just a little something I’ve been doing as a side project:

If you like these, than I’ll be starting a blog soon at The Daemonic Legion, and you can see more of them, including my conversion of Skulltaker on a Juggernaut.

So, that’s all for now, come back later for more. And please leave any and all feedback you have; all help is welcome!

Cheers Daemon_Smith, I'll be sure to do so! :cheers
Now all I have to figure out is what to wear to the miniature equivilant of the oscars. :)

Love the new models you made. Especially the standard bearer. The sign of Hashut looks awesome.

Daemon_Smith:

Thanks guys. Sorry those pics were a bit blurry, I’ll try and get some better ones next time!
