Are these guys Magic users? I was talking with someone, and the Army Builder file, both say they are level 1 Magic users, yet there’s nothing in the book indicating they are.
Can anyone confirm or deny this for me? I’m using the Indy GT list in a league campaign, and have a game tonight where I plan on taking one for the first time.

They cast by using boundspells. Check their page again, it's in the magic weapon description.

That part I knew, but I was being told they were level 1 wizards that could hoose from a Lore like High Priests.

I believe they count as level 1 wizards for the purposes of generating dispel dice. That was one of the earliest suggestions for the list on this forum.

That’s what I figured. In our campaign we can only take Heroes and have to have one BSB, and at least 1 Wizard. I was saying that I can’t take any wizards at level one, as only the High Priest can actually take Magic Lores, and the Daemonsmith is similar to the Runesmith.

Correct… the thought behind it was that chaos dwarf magic users aren’t really a dime a dozen… and it is only the old and powerful ones that actually venture out and destroy stuff… so while he has a bound spell… he is not actually a wizard… and can not be promoted up to level 2… at least that was my understanding…
