Fuggit Khan:
Wow, that is a great blog update, you’ve been busy!
Prince Robu is cool…I seem to remember you had a story/fluff for him before? And what bits is he made from?
And your bull centaurs are great too, I’m especially fond of the classic shield designs (lightning rune, skull and arrow).
The only regrets I have are the ends of his horns (which don’t really look red IRL) and the mould line under the horn on the bottom that you can see in the rear view.
Darkmeer
Mold lines in the old metal mini’s are fairly common…do you have a set of jewelers metal files? I have an extra set of files that I’ve never used and can send to you if you want them (pm me with your mailing address)
Darkmeer:
Thank you, Fuggit.
Believe it or not, Robu is not any bits. He was made by Reaper Miniatures in 1993. I found it in an old Casketworks catalogue. A friendly forumite over there (Malefactus) also known as Deafnala over at Tom’s Boring Mordheim Forum had him. I inquired about his world which he ostensibly uses for Mordheim, and asked if he had any chaos dwarfs running around. He ended up sending me Robu and two blunders. He recently sent me the swivel gun that was made by Reaper from the same casketworks. Those particular molds were sold off and whomever owns them never did anything with them (much to the community’s loss). They even had a standard bearer.
I do have files, and, frankly, did not see this mold line on the mini until the very end. Sadly, I need him this Saturday for a Pathfinder adventure (Black Orks are how I see Orcs in D&D for some reason, not the ones that D&D has promoted… those are something else.).
I happen to love the mini. He’s probably my favorite non Games Workshop METAL Chaos Dwarf that I own. I later provided a Bezhukk the Immortal and a fungus monster to Malefactus as well, here he is playing “tax man” in the environs of the city blight of his world with Lieutenant Smiles acting as a body guard:

The Bezhukk for my army will be red-armored…
I have MANY projects I work on at any given time. Heck, I have 21 mushroom people on my bench at the moment. Filing off mold lines will be a lot of fun.
Abecedar:
Very nice and coming along handsomely.
But I cannot help but think that the princes head is bent
Roark:
Great to see a painted Harlot! And the completed unit of Bulls is very striking. You’ve gotta be pretty happy with those eh.
Darkmeer:
@Abecedar: In my silly fluff for Song of Blades and Heroes, I’m sure falling out of the Old World and into Norindaal (the setting for Song of Blades and Heroes) probably did bend his head a bit. The mini is stock and is not damaged in any measurable way (other than my simple green bath to clean my original paint job off).
@Roark: Thank you regarding the Harlot. The Camera knows all, sadly. I see two parts I have to touch up, but I definitely have other things on the bench, I’ll come back to her when I have time. I’m happy with her for now. I am happy with the front rank of the bulls. I plan on having a second rank, as there were seven original bulls plus Hthark. I have one more bull to paint, but I’m a bit burned on Cavalry right now, so I’ve moved back to infantry. I’m working on some humans, mushroom people, and, of course, Chaos Dwarfs.
Admiral:
Prince Robu is finally revealed! Nice conversion with a comically long head. Very good work on the Bull Centaurs, harlot and statue. Don’t know how I missed those up till now, but it’s nice to see collectors enjoy the minis, and you nailed the look of the temple harlot with that colour scheme. Good lightning effects on the statue, not least with the lava underneath. May I use pictures of your Ancient Times evil dwarfs for future gallery updates? Name will of course be provided.
Also, neat city environs! Bezhukk the Immortal is a must-have miniature in a CD army, so I look forward to your own version of him.
Keep up the good work! :hat off
Darkmeer:
Admiral, you’re welcome to use my pictures for future gallery updates. I’m far, far, far from being the best painter in the world (and the camera shows several flaws with the harlot specifically), but if others would be inspired by her, by all means show her to others!
Also, for those who are interested, Malefactus’ world is detailed with WIP on the Reaper forums over here.
