Billy Ocean:
I’m in agreement with Skink and Fuggit Khan. They seem to blame the failure of their Warhammer line on an inherent lack of demand for high quality Fantasy options, when really its the fact that they have focused on a line of obscure monsters that are unusable in most gaming situations and definitely not for competitive play. On the other hand, their 40k models generally just supplement and fill the niches of existing armies and can be used on the tabletop. If they had taken a similar track with WHFB they could have been very successful. From what I’ve seen, the Mannans blades and other Empire upgrades have been pretty popular. More stuff like that would have resulted in success I think.
Anyway, I think Chaos Dwarfs are fairly safe for the time-being, unless a specific statement were made that they are not legal, which I don’t think will happen. In that case, I would probably just turn them into a vanilla dwarf army with an evil theme! I really like the new Dwarf book anyway, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world, altho I would be sad.
