[Archive] December White Dwarf

Pyro Stick:

can you get it in the newsagents yet? Or is it only subscribers that get it? If you can buy it then i will pcik up my copy today and tell them its my last one so to stop ordering it for me. Even the old lady at the newsagents said that its ridicolously priced for whats in it.

AGPO:

Go Pyro! I haven’t bought WD for ages now.

username:

ya, its annoying!!!111I got it and I wish I had gotten something else instead.

Ishkur Cinderhat:

I don’t actually believe that this WD is made of white pages only. Could you pls specify what’s in it other than advertisement for the newest neatest bestest models? ^^

Willmark:

The problem is that White Dwarf no longer has that hobby feel to it. All to often it is a battle report with obligatory win for the new amt featured and 90+ pages of 40k stuff.

Pyro Stick:

This one will probably be full of Apocalypse. Am i the only one that sees it as 40k in disguise?

Willmark:

Nope. Not surprising IMHO either. 40k is GW’'s bread and butter. Makes sense from their perspective to have a great deal of material dealing with said game. Doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t grumble about it.

BLOOD AXE:

UTTER GARBAGE. Not worthy to line a birdcage with. A 20 page IG/Marines vs. Tau Apocalypse battle report, 10 pages on LOTR campaign idea, 6 pages on Apoalypse scenarios, the rest advertisements, and Gold Demon pics. So 136 page magazine, 36 pages of (barely) hobby articles, 100 pages of ads. Sick. Certainly my last issue.

BLOOD AXEWow this is definately my last issue. Im actually pissed that i need to spend money to buy it. But i have it on order so i cant not buy it. Still, its definately my last one. I feel sorry for those with 2 year subscriptions that have just started it.

BLOOD AXE:

Its nothing but a very thinly disguised catalog. I don’t pay $6 US for a catalog. If I want to see if anything new is coming out,I’ll check their website for free.

If I want a catalog to look at the pretty pictures, I’ll get the Victoria Secret catalog!

Pyro Stick:

Its $8 in uk.

BLOOD AXE:

So Blood axes how many copy do you have Of( Victoria Secret) more than your copies of White Dwarfs

Kera foehunter
Why? Do you want one??:cheers

gIL^:

i havnt bought white dwarf in a long time, i look to see whats in it and then judge to buy it, gamesworkshop have to many products to give every game enough exposure, so the old horse that is wfb takes a back seat.

Uzkul Werit:

That’d be handy. Why they don’t do 6 by 4 movement trays is beyond me.

Malificant:

what ever happened to the days where they had a step by step for creating a beastman mud elemental seige tower, or a wood elf gargantuan tree seige tower, or an orc fortress from popical sticks and foam, or or or…

WD is dead to me:hashut

Kera foehunter:

Well maybe they don’t have the tallent to do anything like that anymore

cornixt:

There’s only so many tactics and conversion articles they can do before they start repeating themselves. people love rules, but only if they can use them in their own army. If you look at the old WD they used to print chunks of the army books as articles (the opposite of what they did for us) so that players could get a decent idea of the rules and fluff behind an army without the team having to do any extra work! The issues concentrate too much on one thing now and while I like to have a catalogue of the new models, I don’t want it to take up the whole mag

Uzkul Werit:

I had a swift flick through it yesterday and I mean swift. Just a million painting articles and yet another bloody Apcolywhatever battle report.

Yawn.

Malificant:

i know one thing they havnt done in a while:idea

backround and a re-serge of the chaos dwarf rules! think of the modeling possibilities! ill even bet there’s a website or two around…

but seriously, with the new stuff out maybe they could do a rekindling of the seige rules, which they could still use as an advertizement for the mighty fortress. having the 6th edition seige rules printed would sell the white dwarf. maybe a campaign tracker from a in-shop mighty empires campaign? wow, look another advertizment right there! i think we should start a Chaos Dwarf Online E-Mag. who wants to help out? dig up conversion articles from the archive, maybe do a website campaign, terrain/display base stuff, etc. show how easy all of the modelling stuff and hobby stuff is especially for one brave enough to tackle chaos dwarves. id do it all myself, but i have no camera to take photos.

Uzkul Werit:

White Dwarf hasn’t given kudos to the community for ages. Last time was during a Death Guard tactia.
