Bear with me on this one. We know that the Black Orc Rebellion occurred “around the time of Sigmar,” beginning about a hundred years before the founding of the Empire. We know that Sigmar’s rise coincided with a massive Greenskin invasion emerging from the Dark Lands into the Old World, culminating in the Battle of Black Fire Pass in -1 I.C. Recent accounts (The Life of Sigmar, Heldenhammer) have clearly shown that it was Black Orcs running the show, and we know the Black Orcs were created by the Chaos Dwarfs.
Sooo…is it too much of a stretch, d’you imagine, that the fleeing warbands of the Black Orc Rebellion were responsible for the massive invasion of the Old World by Greenskins, which in turn provided the crucible that allowed Sigmar to forge his disparate tribes into an Empire of Men? Did the Chaos Dwarfs inadvertently help found the Empire?

It’s a pretty sound argument that our release of Black Orcs on the world have caused incalculable damage. Black Orcs are very good at uniting Greenskins, and it seems the manlings had to unite to stop the massive WAAAGHS led by Black Orcs.
Sounds quite plausible actually! IMO one of the coolest things about CD is that there is so little stuff 'n fluff abut them. We get to make our own modles and create our won fluff. How cool is that?!?
Logic is very sound - think of Winston Churchill as an example we think of him as a great leader however despite his undeniable effect in helping win WW2 his peacetime record (and popularity was poor). A case of the right man at the right time. Now compare this to Sigmar (a brutal tribal chieftain) - if there had been no massive invasion its hard to imagine he would have risen to power other than as a dictator…
Maybe I was all a master plan by some ancient chaos dwarf to create a human empire that could in latter years be raided for slaves to fuel the economy.
