[Archive] Double level 4 hashut - death

Spencer:

I was wondering if the 2 sorcelor prophet of hashut and death on foot could be a good option in a competitive environement? I saw more and more double level 4 list in my regular comp environement (ETC) and that’s why I was thinking if it would be a good option for us?

The two lores offer us very interesting spells so combining them could be very powerful in my opinion. This would also compensate the little weakness of hashut of being too versatile sometimes which leads to an easier identification of the spell to dispell for your opponent.

I would like to play both of them on foot. Maybe one on a carpet.

Any thoughts on the idea? Somebody has every tried the combo? (I ve read that some guy of this forum has played with 2 bale taurus with death and hashut but I m not convinced that this kind of list would perform in my environement because a lot of army are going out with 2 canons)

TheHoodedMan:

Problem with 2 lvl 4 is always: How much spells can you cast. In my experience it is rare that you cast more than 3 spells in one magic phase, still the same amount of casting dice.

So if you know whom you`re playing you probably take the lore you need on a lvl 4 and a additional lvl 1.

Does the extra versatility with 8 spells from 2 lores in a tournament pay out for 400 pts, for which you could get a lot of cool stuff? I am not sure. But if you test it please report of your experiences.

Rettile:

my first army are lizardmen, another force with a pricey lv4 caster. Slanns are good and they have a bonus if there are two of them on the table (they can swap spells), but still almost no one fields two of them, and never in competitive settings. Why? Because the potential of a caster is proportional to the number of PD, and when wizards cost so much it hurts if you roll poorly. Lore of death, with his lore attribute, can help if you plan to field two big wizards, but i’d still go with one. With the points you’ll save you can get more bad guys or warmachines, after all!

MadHatter:

I always run a lvl 4 hashut, a lvl 4 death and a lvl 1 metal signature with chalice these days.

It’s gives a great stability in the magic-phase, access to both soulblight and ashstorm is fantastic. Doom and darkness + dark subjugation + hellcannon is nasty.

However both the Lore of Death and Hashut works best on mobile casters, bale tauri or carpet is a must have imho, magic-wise for burning wrath and good angles for purple sun.

Geist:

I want to try level 4metal and level 4 fire on a great bale, once combined profile becomes a thing. The possible nastiness is just redlicous.

Grimbold Blackhammer:

Looking at it on paper, fielding two Sorcerer-Prophets seems absolutely daft (to me) due to the cost - the most expensive caster in Warhammer barring a Greater Daemon.  Do you actually win by fielding that?

MadHatter has won against everything his community has thrown at his Dual Bale Bomb.

It's still unbeaten in 1 vs. 1, even when they're tailoring against it :hashut

Wins on points denial and phase domination. Check out my 2015 battlereports! :cheers

Spencer:

congratz! my question is: will the double n4 combo also shine on foot? other armies are playing it with great success in my region (like high elves or empire)

Not so sure actually, the Bales are amazing, for 225 points you get a monster equal in power to the mid-tier dragons with S6, T6 reroll to wound and a strong breath aswell as mobility which syncronizes very well with both lore of death and hashut. On the other hand I never once played a sorcerer-prophet on foot :P

TheHoodedMan:

I think the double bale is great because the sorcerers arent limited to casting. If you play them on foot (or with a carpet or even a Great Taurus) they arent as much a threat.

Thank you for sharing this list and your experiences, MadHatter.

The question is now: Where do I get a second Bale Taurus Rider ;-)?
