Did anyone ever try it? How is it?
I was really curious about it but i never got any news or anything about it.

Loidrial:
And how is the game? how does it play and how many ppl/time need?
It always looked lovely for me, just the miniatures I mean, and I found an auction that probably will left there for kinda cheap, so I was thinking about it.
torn:
how does dreadfleet compare to man o war? I really liked man o war but all the book keeping with the ship charts and damage tokens etc was very clunky.
Loidrial:
Anyone of you can make a fast review of how the game plays and how they felt about it?
I feel more like trusting you than random articles around.
MadHatter:
Our local store here has a dreadfleet box collecting dust, also a oöd bloodbowl one. Perhaps I should pick dreadfleet up…
snowblizz:
how does dreadfleet compare to man o war?It doesn't. Like, at all. Warhammer and Man O War are conceptually more similar than MoW and Dreadfleet.

Didn’t really like Dreadfleet… it’s much too random in my opinion. Initiative is a roll-off (because position to the wind would be too logical), the fatecards can screw you over big time from the first turn,… typical GW stuff actually
No, if you’re into nautical games, find the rules to Man-O-War for some unbalanced fun with proxies (because the miniatures go for a lot of money), or, if you want your rules to be familiar, easy to learn as well as logical/more realistic and almost balanced, find the rules to Trafalgar and buy yourself some exquisite Rod Langton miniatures (or just use the plastic ‘Pirates of the Spanish Main’ ships if you have some).
However, the Dreadfleet components are simply gorgeous. The John Blanche artwork, the ships based on those sketches, the gaming mat,… are astounding.
Is this game worth the premium that GW asked for it? No… if you can pick it up for ,30-40, that’d be allright in my opinion. Everything above is too much for this wonky piece of GW-shenanigans.
Anyhow, this is my opnion, and is in no way meant as criticism towards those who love and play Dreadfleet.

Though i think the game looks cool, It never really attracted me, I don’t like special charcters is my games so when a game set around special ships working together it’s pretty difficult to get my head round it.
Though Chaos dwarf Kraken is epic.
Abecedar:
The initial price was what stopped me from getting it and then
when I had the money they withdrew the whole lot from the stores instead of selling them.
Firehammer:
Probably the best mat for naval games, e.g. Dystopian wars.
Admiral:
Haven’t played it yet (but will, once I get around to paint the ships), but the miniatures and everything else is beautiful. A must-have for any naval fan. Made me put in a pre-order for the first and so far only time.
