[Archive] Dungeon Crawler Boardgame ... with Chaos Dwarfs?!

Firehammer:

Massive Darkness is Coming!

CoolMiniOrNot and Guillotine Games are partnering up again to bring you the ultimate dungeon crawl board game experience with Massive Darkness! Massive Darkness brings the classic fantasy RPG experience to modern board gaming, with an action-packed campaign chock full of gorgeous miniatures and a streamlined system that keeps the focus on the heroes' actions, with no need for a game master to control the enemies.

Using the popular Zombicide system as a starting point, Massive Darkness adds all the richness of a dungeon crawl RPG. Pick your hero, choose a class, decide on what skills to spend your XP, get loot by searching the dungeon or killing special enemies that can use the equipment against you! Face a multitude of different enemy types, coming in all shapes and sizes, whose behavior is resolved automatically. Or you can try to sneak around enemies by taking advantage of dark areas of the map.

Look for the Kickstarter campaign for Massive Darkness, coming in a few months with plenty of surprises for us to uncover!

BABIS:

lol, it looks familiar!

Hunter:

Oh my god, I want this so much! I’ve been desperate for a good dungeon delving miniatures game, a la Warhammer Quest. I was holding out or Super Dungeon Explore Mk2 in December (I wasn’t too impressed with the look of Dungeon Saga’s components), but I’d happily wait for this instead.

cornixt:

I like the art, but I’d need to see the actual components. So many dungeon crawlers right now.

Grimstonefire:

Haha. Those furry feet are awesome!

Fuggit Khan:

Judging by the hairy feet and fur, they look like Chaos Dwarf hamsters (cool Big Hats though) :cheers

And this guy has a rather, um, odd (unfortunately) shaped codpiece :o

Firehammer:

That’s … erm … not a cod piece :o

Firehammer:

The game was officially presented with a prototype on the CMON Expo, where that company presented about 20 new games in the pipeline.

Malorndk:

Pretty cool man!

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

Jackswift:

Yep. May have to do this one. The Troll, Spider and Kali\Medusa models (among others) are ace.

Abecedar:

Those aren’t furry feet, they are dwarfs in Ugh Boots

The kickstarter is now live:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coolminiornot/massive-darkness/description

Within hours, it is already double funded with almost half a million dollars.

cornixt:

$120 plus shipping is a bit much. I wonder if you would ever need 12 enemy models of the same type on the board at the same time, seems like they might have more than they need in the game.

Can’t fault the sculpts (except that half of the heroes are look at the ground) or art in the game though, looks great.

Firehammer:

The kickstarter passed 1 Mio. Dollar.

Willmark:

Great minis, and the game reminds me of Talisman.

Roark:

Damn… Sweet designs.

Firehammer:

Kickstarter has passed 1.8 Mio US-$, currently you get the following for a full pledge:
