Howdy, with a sore but recovering knee I’m quiet stationary and out of work at the moment. As such I’m pondering sculpting a female evil dwarf for casting while being seated anyway. Probably in high hat. MadHatter proposed it last year, but I’ve not got any clear idea of how it should look. Could end up as an ordinary warrior, or a sorceress or cult leader of some type, or slavedriver or engineer. Or even an ordinary housewife like this one, or concubine. Doesn’t matter what it ends up like to me, so…
What kind of evil dwarf woman miniature on foot would you like to see available? Please share some wishes for what you’d like to see in your collection, and some interesting or popular ideas will get chosen.
What should be her role? Equipment? No scalemail bikinis. The idea is clothes and armour on.
She’ll probably have one or more children minis thrown in for the sake of it, maybe or maybe not her relatives. They don’t need to play a part in choosing how The scribe & company might also get finished.
How about some sort of old crone? Blind eyes, long wild hair, robes, long finger nails, snaggletooth, etc.
Or if you’re up for it, how about three female minis - maiden, mother and crone - depicting three different stages of life. Maiden could be young, maybe veiled to hide away her beauty. Mother could be cradling a beardling. Crone as above.
Also, as for the ugly Dwarf idea - remember different cultures have different ideas of beauty. Modern first world beauty tends towards thin being beautiful, but for much of history large was considered beautiful (fat meant she was well fed and thus likely to be healthy and broad hips were good for child bearing), so why can’t CDs be the same?
Some still consider large to be beautiful; personal preference though.
Admiral, if you would like, I can try my hand at some Female CD sketches for you to use as a jumping off point. I’ve got some ideas I can flesh out, or work from the ideas that are being presented here. I’ve been meaning to do some Artwork for the site as it is, but haven’t had the proper motivation.
On a related note, I’ve been looking for the right Red Queen model or conversion idea for my army, and still haven’t hit upon a final idea, so additional options for female CD models are definitely something I am interested in. Let me know.

I would love to see a couple of crones! One domestic/civilian type, maybe a hoary old survivor, perhaps a dam who withstood the ordeal of giving birth to a Bull. And one other Sorcerer-Prophet, breaking the mold of male-only wielders of power.

I'd say more Outcast Witch than Sorceress-Prophetess to add character and reinforce the male domination of CD society. I've actually got a vague idea simmering in the back of my mind to add to a fluff piece as background details mentioning a female CD magic user who mascaraeded as a male to become a Sorcerer-Prophet and eventually High Priest before she got found out.

This! Absolutely this! It's darkly Shakespearean. And Outcast Witch is such a great archetype.
I'm still keen to have the "poor dams" who give birth to Hashut's holy and dedicated servants represented beyond that one line they get in Tamurkhan.
Excellent ideas, Roark and Dînadan. It might end up being two or three different female models in the same mould. As for beauty, of course Dwarfs, corrupted or not, would prefer round women, and evil Dwarfs would certainly have tusks, one mini might even have small horns. However, expect wrinkles when I sculpt faces.
@Jackswift: Yes please! That would be great in every way. :cheers
I would like to see a female slavedriver of some sorts, she could be a slave trader of female slaves or a slave task master for concubines…lots of possibilities.
Personally I would not want her to have tusks, but if you did opt to sculpt her with tusks I could just as easily file them off.
A quick sketch. A youngish (relatively in Dwarf years) sorceress or priestess. Perhaps too pretty, and possibly not exactly what you are looking for but it’s a jumping off point. I would still like to add scale armor to the sleeve and perhaps some detail on the breastplate and leg armor:
More sketches to come with some sterner more crone variations. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers, JR
Dayyyumnn!! She’s hot. You’re a gifted artist, dude. Love the style.
Ideally for me, her hair would be in oiled ringlets, in lieu of a beard, but then we’ve basically just got Grulka Blackhand with a hat. So maybe ignore me.
@Fuggit Khan: Neat idea, and naturally evil Dwarf ladies would also be strong and tough enough to handle male slaves of lesser races. I’ll have to think on how such a slavedriver mini could look first, or see if Jackswift comes up with one in his sketches.
@Jackswift: Brilliant quick sketch! Not least the hat. I’ll most likely add some thin ringlets in the hair (though it need not be all ringlets). She’ll be sculpted. Just built a body basis of plastic sprue and paper clips. I look forward a lot to what you come up with next, and hope I can do the concept sketches justice.
Given the many neat concepts proposed here, it seems likely that I’ll end up sculpting several ladies, perhaps to be cast and sold as a bundle. Some crone character is a must, and you’ve sold me on a priestess with hat, and more sculpts are not at all out of the question. :cheers
Also, don’t hesitate to try out masks/helmets or veils, or bareheaded ladies if you want to draw them. Wouldn’t mind sculpting such either.
Thanks all. I’ll keep them coming as I have time to sit down and draw. I should probably do a from the back view as well. I agree on the curls/ringlets.
1: slave/dishonoured - female Dawi Zharr who become dishonoured in some way (be it by their own hand or by being part of a dishonoured family or clan) are stripped of every right and possession. They are shaved completely and forced to wear a cow mask and hooves, symbolically tying them to the broken consort and often shackled. They spend the rest of their miserable (and thankfully short) lives serving in the brothels of Dawi Zharr settlements and many are shipped off to the Infernal Guard*
2: Maiden - Young, husbandless female Dawi Zharr are robed and wear veils and headdresses leaving only the top half of their head bare. They are only permitted to show their faces within the confines of their family ziggurat, and even then only to family members (and slaves, but they don’t count as people in Dawi Zharr society). Their heads are shaven, symbolising their virginity.
3: Mother - married females are permitted to show their faces and wear more revealing dress which leave the left breast bare so that they may suckle their beardlings as needed. They also tend to wear more ornate jewellery than maidens do. As their male punter parts take pride in their beards, so do female Dawi Zharr take pride in their hair, styling them into long coils and adorning them with rings and jewels.
4: Crone - elderly females who do not die from a life of child bearing or who reach one hundred and fifty summers without marrying forsake their worldly possessions and are given up to the Cult of Hashut. They are inducted as priestesses in one of the sub-cults dedicated to one of the shackled consorts, the Dark Mother, or other such Demi-deity depending on region. They wear simple black robes and wear cow masks (although they may remove theirs as needed unlike the dishonoured whose masks are bonded in the same manner as those of the Infernal Guard). The Crones serve as teachers to new mothers, apothecaries, nurses and midwives.
5: Soothsayer - those females who display an aptitude for magic are often outcast from Dawi Zharr society and are forced to flee into the Dark Lands or eek out an existence at the edges of Dawi Zharr cities. Magic is seen as a gift from Hashut, and the mysoginistic priests of his cult see females possessing such gifts as an affront to the covenant between them and the Dark Father. Nethertheless, these outcasts are often consulted by Dawi Zharr, for they possess a degree of clarity and foresight that even the Priests of Hashut cannot match.
* I’ve censored the slave/dishonoured pic due to her being naked. The hoof gloves and boots aren’t particularly well drawn because I didn’t particularly want to look up fetish gear to get them right ^^;
