MrDw:
I’ve never actually bought or played Chaos Dwarves before, but I’ve seen and loved them. I came into the hobby a bit late to collect them though, about 1999, and then I quit for 5 years and came back this month.
Having read about alot of people converting the BFSP dwarves into Chaos Dwarves, I looked up some of the images of the conversions and fell in love again with CD. After finishing the Empire 1,000 point army I was working on as a starter, I got the BFSP and decided to try converting them, as I’d never used Green stuff before and was a bit apprehensive.
I apologise in advance for the quality of the images.
Chaos Dwarf Warriors

After making those, I saw the guide on making the CD Hero using the dwarf Thane and decided to have a go at it. I apologise to the original maker, I’ve forgotten who it was :sad

And after that, I looked up a reference that I kept seeing, “Immortals”. Well, today I started a WIP Immortal.

I’m not entirely sure what to do after this, apart from more details, say on the hat. But I read that the Immortals beards were sheathed in metal, not sure how to do that, other than put small plates onto the beards or paint them as if they were metal.
Any and all comments and criticism are welcome.
(I also have a sorceror but it’s such a blatant copy of someone elses idea I feel too bad to post it)
AGPO:
I really like the Immortal. The best way I’ve found to do hats is to take a push pin, cut off the smaller circular bit and the pin, fatten out the main part and add detail such as an arrow. See Xander’s sorcerer conversions for details of what I mean

Ah, I see it. I think I might have -one- of those pins lying around. I'll go try that, thanks!
Edit:

Also an undercoated Blunderbusser
Hashut’s Blessing:
Looking good. Especially so for a first time with GS. I like the immortal’s weapon: curved, wicked, yet brutal and hacky. keep up the lovely work. If you wanted (I’d paint the beard metal or leave as a normal beard), you could put a thin sheet of GS over the beard (shwoing some out either side and at the bottom) and use it as a metal/leather sheet. maybe put scales on the sheet. But, well done!

Thanks for the idea, but I'd probably end up cursing repeatedly in trying to do that. I think I might just leave it as a normal beard, but instead of Codex Grey Highlighting, maybe Boltgun Metal or Mithril Silver.
The Flying Beaver:
I wish my first tries with GS were that good! Those look great, your army shows lots of potential. Keep the pictures coming!
Hashut’s Blessing:
Well, you’re more than welcome and I think playing it safe here IS the better option. just giving suggestions of other ways to make it look “armoured”.
Traitor King:
A great start, the army is coming along nicely.
I like the immortal, especially the weapon.
Cant see it that well but the bluderbuss (the gun itself) looks pretty cool.

Perturabo:
Nice. Your greenstuff work is good. My CD’s were also my first try at greenstuff, but your’s are more impressive.
MrDw:
Thanks for all the comments

I went with the painted silver option in the end. Maybe when I’ve had a bit more experience with Greenstuff I can try it

Including the Blunderbusser aswell as it was hardish to see previously:

The blunderbusser is made using just a buckler from the Imperial Militia, I glued it on, then thought it actually looked cool without extra greenstuff.

I used the bucklers from the Dwarf Thunderer box for mine.
Your painting is good too. The Blunderer in particular is very nice.

Thanks! I actually forgot to highlight the Scab Red with a brighter red before I took the photo.

It's very neat, and I like the scheme. They're a lot better than mine at any rate.
The Slaver:
very nice minis. I like the idea for your blunderbusses, and may have to try it myself. But i must say, what is that cannon doing in the background?!?!? why not use that rather horrendous model and convert it into the proper Death Rocket model! Thats what im doing with mine, and it seems to work really well.

Again, that's what I used mine for, but I might have gone a little bit overboard with the spikes.:) There are pics in my sig link.
Lord Archaon:
The hero is looking good but you might make him a bit larger axe.Dwarf warriors are also great.
About Immortal his face/mask is a bit flat but it isn’t very bad:). And i might steal your idea of making axes out of miners weapon.
MrDw:
I am actually making that cannon into a Death Rocket model, but kinda got waylaid by work and college.
I had an hour and a bit spare tonight after an essay, so I did two quick conversions.
Idea blatantly stolen, but I also tried my first creation of the Arrow icon that CD’s love.

And a champion for the Warriors

Also tried the icon here

The Flying Beaver:
I guess I’m the only one that saw the rocket stuck in that cannon…
Nice new conversions too. You’re getting the hang of Dawi’Zharr beards quickly.
Hashut’s Blessing:
The arrows have come out very well and the beard-work is looking very good.
