So here’s my first go at making LoA lists, and I’m stumbling around in the dark coming from tomb kings. I’m especially confused with what lore to use, as I generally take the army lore in my other army (TK)
1000 points
Heroes
Castellan-172
Mask of the Furnace, Shield, General
Core
24 Infernal Guard-464
Full command, blunderbusses
10 Infernal guard-120
HW/Shield
Rare
Dreadquake mortar-240
Ogre, Hellbound
1500 points
Lords
Sorcerer-Prophet-290
Level 3 Hashut, Dispel scroll, general
Core
24 Infernal Guard-464
Blunderbusses, full command
20 Infernal guard-392
Blunderbusses, full command
Rare
K’daai destroyer-325
I’m not sure if I should drop the sorcerer-prophet to a sorcerer and get an infernal castellan BSB or not. Any and all suggestions welcome
Little more info is needed, are you doing a sub-average points value because its all you have? League? Escalation play? Special event? If you plan on growing into a more average 2500 tourny stock size then you are kinda on the path with you 1500pt list.
Lores
The lore of Hashut is very kick ass. It literally does everything you could need, also if you take it make sure you put the flaming banner into the mix. Making some one take double wounds when ash storm goes off rocks socks.
If you do build up to bigger points toy around with a lvl 2 (or more than one if you can afford it) with lore of fire and your prophet running Hashut, that’s just dirty if you get ash storm and flame cage off on some one.
Having said that a fair number of people on here think death is the way to go with your lvl 4. I totally disagree, as Hashut does it all. What I do think is clever if you can afford it play style wise is, Series of lvl2’s running metal. Get 3 of those guys out there with no prophet (to save on points), you have a very large range of handy helper spells. But having said that you have to be ready to accept the fact the that you will be at a major disadvantage when it comes to dispelling. IE one of your lvl2’s needs to carry the chalice of darkness.
Thanks for the feedback-I just wanted to make sure that I was on the right track and it’ll be all I can afford for a while, though my area’s fantasy scene doesn’t involve tourneys usually so proxying with my TK/movement trays isn’t an issue.
I usually proscribe to 1/3 of foot troops being missile troops. So if i had a unit of 30 IG with hand weapons i would go with 10-15 guns to go with that.
There’s something wrong with a setup of just guns, I personally believe it goes against the spirit of the game. Armies fighting on a battlefield.
Im sure we can work out a formula of some sort Like 1 warmachine per 1000 pt’s, 1 Big monster per 2000 pt’s.
