Never managed to play Mordheim, but I and a friend managed to bang out a pretty good crew of Necromunda fans for a couple summers while in school. Somehow I managed to get the Mordeim rulebooks a while back and it seemed the two games had a number of similarities. My biggest complaint with Necromunda (and Gorkamorka when we came across that) was the random advances. I can’t recall ever getting too unlucky with casualties like you did, though I saw plenty of it happen…but I was constantly having gangers and juves challenging my leader because they got another LD advance, and my heavies who only ever got bonuses to initiative…Loved the game at the time, but I don’t think I could bring myself to play it now.
