dude you need to get some production values in there, you cant just leave the camera locked off on a tripod for 2.5hrs! you need handhelds, close ups, mids and long distances, birds eye views, tabletop views, flyovers. sack the cameraman! get some music in there in between turns, maybe annotate summary in a title screen between turns, and break turns up a bit make them more of an event, check out striking scorpion 82 s bat reps on youtube for some nicely done ones!

Edit it down to 20-30 minutes, 60 minutes maximum. I couldn't watch it all!

I had messages asking for the longer style so i gave it a go. No way i am cutting music :P i barely have enough time to get a game in let alone edit the vids ;) While i would love to go all out, i dont make any money on these and my time is brutally limited. But ill stick to the summary styles instead. I could probably do title cards between turns as well.

The biggest problem with music is the rights. you get all kinds of annoying notices if you dont use your own music. I even got notices for my intro music, which is MINE! haha

also to add … one problem is literally only my CD are a fully painted army 
so if i get too fancy then the unpainted armies look goofy hahaha
we have 12 40k players and 4 (active) fantasy players. but most are new so just dont have painted armies.
Ill give your ideas a go on our next 40k game and get your feedback.

If there was a way to mount a go pro looking down exactly 90degrees and timelapse it, you would have a pretty neat setup you could then talk over post-battle and describe whats going on, use the cam in the corner which you currently have as a witness cam, ie for your own record to go back through and remember the key moments/what went on. that might be a way to approach it that isnt too clunky/heavy.

Didn’t really get me at all - I could play myself a battle in the same time.

its interesting… i had 3 separate people message me asking to see the entire battle in my reports. and you all hate it. its easier for me to do the shorter versions anyway
just goes to show… always ignore the internet, they are the vocal minority 
if you look at the channel the 40k ones are the standard way i do them
