I’m interested in people’s views on this, personally I think its a shame that Fat bloke’s left, WD was in its golden age with him as editor, Tim Adcock I don’t know anything about, and i’m actually a little glad Morely has been shifted, his latest work (awfull possessed models and pretty average elf heroes) were nowhere near the quality of some of the other sculptors there, besides, this way, he can’t sculpt the plastic Tzeentch daemons like originally planned :).
always a shame to hear people going out of work, although as far as i know paul sawyer hasnt made much of a contribution in recent years, and ive never been much a fan of moreleys work, or adcocks really. they were more intermediate, i mean you would class their stuff alongside the perry’s.
I only bought about 3 white dwarfs after fat bloke gave over, it’d just become like a really sort section advertising catalog that cost me 4.00 and all i read were the battle reports and the conversion clinic, i dont know if they’ve changed editors again yet or what, do they still have the clinic? that was probably the best bit for me
Even the battle reports are B.S. now that they deliberately stack battles to show off whatever new product is being sold- and if the ludicrously one-sided battle goes the wrong way, they do it over.
Come on. To sell the Dark Angels, they had a battle report against Tau. The Dark Angels guy had a bike-heavy army, and was concerned about the Tau maneuverability. The Tau guy was talking about his speed, and how it’d be a match between two fast armies. Then they show the list… and the Tau guy has a STATIC GUNLINE of SIX SQUADS OF FIRE WARRIORS.
Tim Adcock is responsible for the current design of the Land Raider, and subseuently, all Space Marine tanks. Looking at your link, it also says Tim made the Baneblade.

Seriously? Damn, I like those models, shame he's leaving, although from what i've heard, other miniature making companies pay a lot more to decent sculptors than GW does...
paul sawyer as well as being in my mind the best editor they have had, after he left the wd it went downhill fast, was the head of the trade sales department selling to independent stockists
its a shame 3 old stalwarts of the gw gaming industry have now gone, as i have said on warseer before, imho gw and wd are loosing a lot of its personality and ending up with faceless minions
Although its a sad goodbye Im sorry I have to say Im happy Gary Morley is gone. Ive hated almost everything hes done but hes always been there so tis still kinda sad.
Fat bloke is gone… Thats a part of my childhood that goes with him. He was the greatest editor WD ever had. He put the hobby back into its pages. Coincedently after he left WD became an advertisment mag with hardly any aticles “by gamers for gamers” in the style of Mike Walker for example. I want Paul back sobs
yeah they might have been good for us, but for all we know they could have been stealing daily from petty cash to buy bacon butties . . . . lol

Ha ha ha yes!! That's amazing well done sir. I remember really enjoying Paul Sawyer's articles in WD (back in the mists of time when I still read it). However, a few years ago as a 17-year-old part timer redshirt I met him at a GT here in Calgary, and he was kinda rude. Also he played a game of warhammer at my GW with an illegal list! Not that I'm saying he's a bad guy, it was probably just a bad day (or, on the other hand, who really has time for 17-year-old part timer redshirts? :) ) but it was kind of disappointing for me.
In conclusion, good luck to all three, as per Uzkul Werit.
I’d be quite skeptical about this as there is no evidence of these guys actually being fired, it’s really just a rumour.
Besides that, I’m really fond of old fat bloke, especially when he was the main editor. His army building articles were great and kept me really interested in the hobby.
But fact is that its been quite some time since weve had a Morley moment. So in Morleys case I do hope its true (No offense to Morley or his fans intended).
