Well only got one game in, Giant flanked a unit of dwarfs irondrakes (30x3) after the Taur’ruk held the unit up in the front. Together they were unstoppable, Siege giant only suffered one wound from the paltry 3 str4 attacks from the Irondrakes. Then he proceeded to rampage into a group of miners along with the Taur’ruk and totally wrecked them only suffering 2 wounds from them. Did my opponent have cannons? No.
If he did have cannons then id imagine the giant would of been very dead (well maybe I parked him behind a tower just enough so he could see the flank of the irondrake unit). Truly the key to get the most of the Siege Giant is getting him into a flank, once he is there he should be pretty safe, and must maneuver him around buildings and the like to block artillery fire.
Additionally, I would like to add that I won that game

Giant strikes again, used the k’daii destroyer to distract my opponents ironblasters, they killed it turn 1. Giant did not get into combat until turn 3, (moves him from cover to cover) once in combat with a severely depleted gutstar (hit from 69 blunder shots, and a purple sun) the giant managed to kill his bsb with smash with pick doing 9 wounds, then proceed to head but the slaughtermaster twice, and then killed him with smash with pick. Giant then died to maneaters. The giant in all the combats was facing no more than 3 to 4 attacks per combat. Due to where he was placed in combat, and the fact he killed or incapacitated an ogre bwfore they could swing. Overall won that battle.
Not that it really matters, but feels like the siege giant was an overlooked legion of azgorh combat choice. He is actually quite deadly in close combat.
