Just vote for the model, guys. It’s not that complicated. Find which ones you think are best, and pick three of them. If you think a good conversion is more impressive than a good paint job then you should vote accordingly.

I've never considered Golden Hat to be merely a painting contest. The very first contest was to make a BFSP Chaos Dwarf, after all.

Otherwise, the person who paints well, and can't convert to save his life, will be disadvantaged to the converter that paints terribly..

There was no mention in either of the thread starters that this was only a painting competition. ;) So imo as we didn’t specify it (and we won’t from now on), there is no correct way to judge it. Basically whatever is the most impressive for you; if it’s painting vote for that. If it’s conversion, or a combination of other things vote for that.
I was very methodical with my judging, I voted 50% on painting, 25% on conversion and 25% on basing/ overall feel. I actually got 4 with a joint 3rd, so I had to pick one to drop.
